Mountain Pass
Path leading to Hope HPG Station
John grit his teeth as he climbed down the side face of the first ambush site. His hands expertly gripped the rocks for handholds, as he shifted his weight, readying for a leap to quickly cross the side of the rock. It was dangerous, but they didn't have time for him to safely cross, as they still had so much more to do. He quickly counted to three and leaped across the rock, catching another handhold two meters down. Seeing a load bearing point in the rock with a crack, John pulled his boot knife out, and ground out a small hole, just big enough for the explosives. He was about to reach back and grab the plastic explosive when his handhold slipped. Reacting quickly, he stabbed into the rock, his knife sinking into the rock and holding. John breathed a sigh of relief as he climbed back up to the spot, selecting his handhold a little more carefully this time. Finally, he got back to the spot, and got the plastic explosives into place. He then primed the detonators and climbed back to the top of the ridge. Dmitri held out a hand to help him to the top, and then hoisted him up onto the ground. They then radioed over to Wilson.

Wilson wiped the sweat from his brow, and continued placing bits of explosives as he hung, quite literally, on a thread of rope. Placing his last bit of explosives and priming the detonator, he heard Connors call out from on top of the bridge.
"Hey, you done yet?"
"How many times you gonna ask that question?"
"As many as it takes to hurry your *** up. John finished up with the with the first ambush site, says we need to start helping the shinies lay the mines on the small path,"
"Yeah, well you tell John that I'm a little busy," Wilson called out
"What was that?" John retorted
Wilson cursed under his breath and finally began pulling himself back up the edge of the bridge. John stood there with his arms crossed, feigning anger at Wilson's remark. Wilson snapped a quick salute followed by flipping John the bird. John shook his head in amusement, and then spoke quickly.
"Now get over to the small goat path, and help them set up the rest of those mines. I'll head back and notify our new command of our situation,"
"Aye sir," Wilson replied
They then split up Wilson hoofing it over to the path where the Comstar security was setting up the minefield. He was sure he'd have to redo it all anyway, ******* greenhorns. John meanwhile hitched a ride back up to the station ready to give his report.
