Hi,
I played a lot, actually way too much MW4, and sunk a lot of my life back then into playing with a clan named the 21st Centauri lancers. Tons of fun!

Anyways, though I totally love Mech Warrior, I'm ashamed to say I don't know much of the role playing or history. I'm eager to learn; however, since I want to continue with the 21st Centauri lancers, what Faction do I choose?

Are the 21st Centauri Lancer even in existence at this point of the game's history?

21st Centauri Lancers had a long standing contract with The Free Worlds League, IIRC.

Since their mutiny from the Capellan Confederation, the 21st have worked for all Successor States save House Liao, against whom they still harbor a grudge. They have been in employ of House Marik at least since 3019, stationed on various posts along the Steiner border. In both 3025 and 3054 their homeworld is Nestor.

Lancers have generally held a good rep, too. They're some of the 'good' mercs out there.

Sorry to say, but you will be forced to change the name. None of the famous house or merc units can be used in the game, it's been stated a few times but I can't post any source information. All I know, is that you cannot use any of the famous units, and cannot use any clan names either (the ones that are known, basically anything in Sarna.net).

You could use a different name of course and style yourself after a famous unit, but you cannot use any cannon unit, they are reserved for the time line story and whatever else the developers wish to use them for.

well there are a few names from MW4 I have not seen, glad to see that you guys are finally coming out of the word work. I think I still have spyder on my MSN from the empire admin days hope to see more of you guys around as mwo moves forward.
