since i first played mw3 back in the day using a sidewinder joystick I've loved these games, but after mechwarrior 4 the mech sim games vanished. With other lower quality mech games trying to take its place, Chrome hounds mechassaults with nothing to fill in the void. since piranna released the mechwarrior teaser a few years ago it seemed like a single player experience which got me super excited it dropped the single player and went multi only. what are the chances we will get to see a new mechwarrior game?

also* what other mech simulation games can yall reccomend not counting mw4.

I have heard known plans for a new single player mechwarrior game, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I was really hopin for a singleplayer/campaign mode in mwo too. Commanding my lancemates and outfitting their individual mechs was always awesome back in mw4, plus killing infantry/tanks/planes was always sorta fun too-cuz then when you killed a mech it was a biiiig deal. Hopefully at some point, pirannah will throw in a short singleplayer campaign.

I think you are missing a word or two in between there. :P
At the current point in time there are no plans for any single player campaign or game.

@ Foreveromega, its always a good idea to search before you post, what you ask for has been asked many times before.

As for other mech sim games, have you tried Mechwarrior Living Legends?
It is a mod for Crysis Wars, so you need Crysis Warhead which includes Wars, to play it.
It not only mechs though, its combined arms so you can play tanks and air unites as well.

Noone's making them anymore. That's also the reason original SP Mechwarrior from 2009 got scrapped. Every single publisher didn't see profit in this old (and almost dead) genre. :P

In the latest interview posted (by IGN or Gamespot, I think), Garth says there's no plans for it yet, but if if MWO takes off and does really well, it's something they could look at in the future.

EDIT: Found the interview: http://www.dualshock...and-the-future/

MWO is taking a big risk in making a new Mechwarrior game, getting investors to back a seemingly-dead franchise was not easy!

As it stands, micropayment PvP is a very profitable model and less risky than a large-up-front-cost single player game.

If PGI and IGP (and their allies over at Roadhouse/Acronym on the MWT project) can prove Mechwarrior can be profitable, then we can begin salivating over a single player game.. But the financial risks for a AAA quality single player is much steeper than a micropay PvP game.

Why not make the singleplayer campaign a purchasable iap right in mwo- they have such a great mech combat system in place with mwo i'd hate to see them make a completely new singleplayer AAA game

Also i cant w8 for MWT either
