Hey guys hoping you can help me. The upcomming release of this game, and the absolute bordom with WoT non existant endgame, ive started playing a little Mech 4 again. Im was very excited to see that there was another server to play it on, but I cant find how to get onto it. Does Mekmatch still exist? and If it does is it hard to install? Do I need to buy all the games again (I only seem to have my first copy of Mech4 vengence left). Any help would be much appriciated.

We (JFc) play several nights a week on gameranger, especially tuesday nights. Its still plenty of fun. come on around 9-10 oclock and just join a game. Patrick's installation link is pretty nifty, should work for almost anyone.

Ok, first off, if you want to get up to speed - go to www.mechwarriorleagues.com - THAT is where you will find people still playing this game in a league environment and find downloads and how too forums.

You can download MW4:Mercs for FREE from MekTek.net. I forget all the details, but there's nice walkthroughs on the MWL (mechwarriorleagues) forums. Plenty of games to be had on the ingame browser, and if you want to get more serious you can join a team. There's not nearly as many teams as there once was, but still probably 20 or so actively playing scheduled games.

And yes, you can get mw4mercs to work on win7x64 bit. There's some sort of trick to getting it to work though, and again, I'll point you to the mwl forums to find a simple walkthrough to get you there.

PS_ not many people actually play on this gameranger thing mentioned earlier. Just one or two teams who got frustrated at their lack of ability vs teams they couldnt compete with so took their ball and went somewhere else with it. Sorry if the truth hurts.

Wow... Flame bait much? So you know some people actually do have networking issues with MW4 and gameranger, much like the old MSN gaming zone, helps alleviate those issues. I'm not calling you a liar, but at the same time your tone could be worked on some I think.

To Zarkdon: There is a fairly small but dedicated fanbase still playing in several leagues out there, MWL, as well as NBT (Net BattleTech) League. Game ranger is a solid option, but it isn't required to play the game. There are usually servers up most nights, and once you get MW4 Mercs installed and updated with the Mektek mech packs, you should give the in-game multiplayer browser a try.

If you have a problem with getting things working, reply here and I'll see if I can help you.

Hey having some problems getting the mektech thing to work. Have it installed but It wont let me connect to the servers with people on it. Im running windows 7 is there something special I need to do? Its the 64 bit version.
Also, Mektechs forums dont seem to work very often i get alot of gateway not allowed and error 404s is this common or am I just an *****?

Sounds like you're having router issues, let me see what I can find on mektek's site to help you (and hope that it works.)

Are you using the MTX program to run Mercenaries?

Just wondering, that's what I use.

Here' are a couple of links I found, the first is a general help thread on Mektek (I hope it works)
The second is a port forwarding thing you may want to look at. I think this is where your issue lies.
