The Marauder II once again uses Star League technology. An XL Engine is four times the cost of a standard. Have fun trying to afford just ONE. The only way you could possibly get one slightly easily is through salvage. And once again. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

The first MAD-II introduced to canon did not use SL tech, and certainly didn't use an XL engine. XL engines are more expensive, but are also easier to salvage.

I would like to see the Orion. We already have an assault already, and the Dragon is at the bottom end of the Heavy class, the Orion would fill the gap that exists in the 75ton range and it is just a cool, awesome vitage design used across the entire Inner Sphere. I would love to see what the Dev crew can do to update the ol'girl.

Cheers

Well, this has most likely been said before...
2 Lights
2 Mediums
2 Heavies
1 Assault...

My money is on an assult mech being #8...

as for which one....Awesome.

I tend to agree and I am hoping, against all hope, that they release it today that way March's mech could be the Marauder.

I want either the Marauder, Warhammer, or Battlemaster.

If the "Unseen" thing is no longer an issue, then what's the problem?

I have to agree, this must be the next BattleMech to come out, but it's going to be a while until we know.

EDIT: It's the PPC boat that we all know and love (hate sometimes).

Check the timeline though... you might discover that the triple PPC variant will not make release due to canon. If MWO is set for 3049 or later, then yea, the AWS-9M could be in; if not, then don't expect to see the feared PPC boat. IIRC, MWO is set in 3048...?

I found this one recently. Never seen the Hercules used in a MechWarrior game, but it has some nice features for a 70 ton heavy. http://www.sarna.net...es_(BattleMech)

Just guessing the next mech will be a 70-75 ton heavy.

But, it seems as an era inapropriate mech. :)

I haven't spotted it on this thread yet, but I have to go with my rapidly growing favorite heavy, the Archer. It is, at its core, a more useful Catapult. A Catapult never tried to reach out and tear another 'Mechs head off. But an Archer has. And I think Wolf's Dragoons chose it due to capabilities similar to those of the venerated Timber Wolf (this is where you all say seyla).

Who hasn't seen the leaked art for the next Battlemech? Clearly it's a Banshee!

In all honesty though, I'm REALLY hoping for an Orion. I so want this 'mech in game.

Having read the Dev Blog skills trees, something occurs to me. Whatever mechs are added to the game need 3 viable variants. For Example: Jenner 7D, 7F, 7K. Catapults have 3 variants before advanced tech, and so on. Are there 3 distinctive versions of the Orion? And the Awesome variants rip out the PPCs.

I won't lie, I think that since we've already got two lights, two mediums, and two heavies, we'll probably see an assault this month...

It will most likely be the Awesome.

HOWEVER, I would much rather have it be the Stalker. As I'd said on the Facebook page, the Stalker is called the most common assault 'mech in existence in Technical Readouts 3025 and 3039. It is probably the most common assault 'mech straight through until well past 3050.

What is more, the 'mech is a very well designed one. It's no Awesome, but it manages to cover all of the range brackets with excellent, varied firepower. I fell in love with the design back in the days of Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries when a mission required you to take one out into a city in the middle of a dust storm. I think that it would be silly for the Stalker to not be part of MWO's core lineup.

As for any arguments against the Stalkers' looks, the Jenner wasn't that far off in terms of how it looked in comparison to the Stalker, and FD managed to give it a great facelift. The Awesome never needed a facelift, but the Stalker clearly holds a LOT of potential for receiving a redesign.

Wednesday Surprise

March 28th - What will it be? Even I don't know! :)

Judging by the dates of the previous Mech releases, I'm guessing that the big reveal on the 28th will be our 8th BattleMech. They (the Devs) have been releasing one Mech a month, soooooo I'm guessing it's a safe assumption.

I'd rather drive a Stalker than an Awesome. 3xPPCs will produce such a huge instant heat spike, it'll shut you down.
