I really liked the trailer, but I have one complaint. The mech is way too tall. The tallest mechs are what, 15 meters? The mech in that trailer had to be at least 20m tall. Way too tall. MW4 manual had mech heights, and the atlas was 13m tall, meaning those men should have been better scaled against it.... But otherwise awesome trailer!

I figure they where low on cash so they cut a deal with Lord of the Rings online and are using Hobits for their Techs.

I actually just pulled out my Atlas mini (from the box set), which is supposedly 1/285th scale. It is 56mm tall, which would translate to 15.96 meters... on top of that, like someone else said earlier, if you assume the techs are 1.75m tall, it actually works out. The tech went up to the ankle, which I played around in paint with, and actually that mech works out to be almost exactly 16 meters. It seems big, but by the cannon, it is right... weird....

The atlas really isn't too big, the engineer goes up to the ankle.
Do you want the engineer to be able to touch the waist do you?

Atlas is PERFECT size.
I would hate for it to be any smaller..

I think some people are being fooled by the camera perspective. Looks fine to me.

That feeling that you're turning them into geeky robot nerds... well just ignore that one.

You don't have to be nerd to like Mechwarrior, or Battletech. :)

Yes there is. You can select up to 720p on YouTube. (whichever trailer you meant)

No, as already mentioned a few days ago, the YouTube version, while it has 720p and 1080p selectable, is not actually in HD. The 720p and 1080p version does not look different than the 480p version, it seems it's just the 480p version again, but scaled up. The only difference is a higher bitrate for the 720p and 1080p version, but the resolution seems to be lower than 720 and 1080.

I pointed it out to Garth Erlam, but so far I did not get a response.

No, my kids love the trailer, they themselves have seen it roughy 15 times. After 6 times watching it i will turn it off and they will cry because they want to keep watching it.

They are 2 and 3

You indoctrinate them early, huh? :)
I appreciate what you do for the community! But for a Lance you'd have to do two more! :)
So the slogan isn't entirely correct: This isn't your fathers MechWarrior!
For them it is! :)

I thought it was a damn cool teaser and the music felt right and got me all pumped, but one thing didn't seem right; "All systems online". I'm pretty sure it's been brought up many times already, but it just doesn't feel right to have "online" instead of "nominal". Hell, I never played a MechWarrior game until MW4, and even "online" felt odd to me!

Whatever, still very excited for this game to come out already.

Yes, that is a damn fine cool teaser and the dev team is a damn cool very nice one. I seldom have seen such a direct connection between devs and audience/fanbase. That make them something special²!
And yes, that's brought up a few times. I din't count them nor I won't. And it's starting to get annoying. :)
Don't feel personally offended here, but IMHO it's just about time!!!
I personally give a sh** if Betty says "online", "nominal", "normal", "brilliant" or "Yippie ka yay".
I know, MW2 had it the same as MW3 and MW4, including the several addons! But guess what, despite any assumptions, they aren't canon.

Never were and hopefully never will! And I'm tired to see people nagging about this littleness and in reverse feel the Weapons etc in MW2/3/4 were modeled fine. That's not to your address, it's in general...

Oh yes, welcome aboard!
Take a seat and grab yourselve a drink! :)
Aww... nearly forgot it. Since it seems you're new and Paul demanded it (If you don't know who's Paul stick around and you will find out! :)) :

if you refuse to read it Paul will find out...
And then...
Well... :)

Guys in this community really need to grow up out of fantasyland. Can't count how many times the MechWarrior Diehards have been letdown; 12+ years? The trailer was nothing impressive. No ingame footage whatsoever. Sorry

Got to necro this a bit.

The trailer is pure awesomeness in a can.

I liked the sound they used, a lot, personally it is an heavy sound, old school feeling, which mechwarrior is, the mood and feeling of the game is brought out.

Now for the love of god, is this sound taken from somewhere or is it created int he studios, answer me please i have scavenged around looked around the internet and guess what i went through the entire 47 pages here and 35 pages in the youtube comments, this is the closest i could get to.
