Forgive me if this has been brought up or confirmed already, but I was checking out the trailer and thought I was looking at an ammunition counter, but all the weapons on the Atlas had an empty bar and a '10' at the end of it. They were all listed with a set of numbers at the front that I can only assume would be for assigning weapon groups. So, given that information, I think the game will be very nicely paced. Another reason to get all excited! Posted Image

You really can not buy into that video. Most of it was not game footage, though some small bits were.

It was confirmed by the developers that many elements in the video (including the cockpit, HUD, and ALL the graphics and models) were in-game elements. Some of the elements, such as the hangar itself, will be re-used for the mechlab, while some others were just made for that video (most likely the drop harnesses).

So, no, we can buy into the video.

Dont say that in here. There are rumors that a pitchfork and torch mob was gathering at PGI offices because of that unfortunate "nominal" accident.
The average Battletech fan is a fierce canon rivet counter.

I never said they shouldn't have made it 'nominal' in the actual game. But it would have been a bit...the only thing I can think to say is 'cooler' if they'd purposely made it 'online' for just the teaser.

I figured that their little technical thing was something along the lines of the games using/being pointed to the wrong sound file. Instead of a voice actress saying online in every line, they could have a sound clip for online, have her say the other words, and then have the game play the different clips, which could have led to All Systems Online instead of Nominal being used.

Well, as was said, apparently they couldn't get to the Nominal audio. Perhaps it was deleted or accidentally place in an incorrect place on the network? Regardless, it'll be "Nominal" in the game.

Online was a technical issue. It's supposed to be Nominal, and will be in the final version.

Me and some friends were wondering about this, thanks for making that clear!

Like I said, some elements were ingame. But buying into this 10 second recycle time is not confirmed.

I don't even see the point of you bringing up the OP when a developer already said THIS:

As for the 10 - it's ammo. Yes we know lasers do not have ammo. Ammo is coming online this month. right now all of our gameplay tests have unlimited heat/ammo, which makes for some very unreleasitic and humorous mech combat. We had our first playtest with working heat yesterday and oh boy did it feel som much better.

Which completely explains the whole "10" thing on the first page! o.O

Wrong, how do you know it is multilpe weapons? We are talking ballistic, energy, missle, and artilary. How in the hell do all those type weapons recycle in ten seconds?

So you just started balance/fairness testing?

I don't think there's going to be much balance/"fairness" testing required in MWO. The balance issues have been tested and sorted out for over 25 years now. I see this as more like PGI is going through and tweaking the final few nuts and bolts.

Way to spoil the thread, this could've been page after page of pointless speculation.

Mitchell, I would point you to the quote I put at the top of this post from Bryan, that the '10' shown in the OP screenshot is a placeholder for ammunition counts. Since the OP was wondering if it was recycle time, and Bryan clearly stated it wasn't, there is no reason to continue bringing up the 10 second recycle for weapons, as the OP was incorrect in his speculation.

Ok, so I was wrong, but it was fun to guess that the 1-6 were weapon groups and that the open graph bar and '10' at the end were recycle timers. /sigh This is like Christmas as a kid... all those presents under the tree, and we can only guess at what might be under the wrapping paper. At least we have our name on a few of them.

We don't know. But I'm not going to complain if I have to, because, well, if you would do it in a real Mech mission, they why the heck not?

If it replaces the loading screen (aka: the game loads while playing this cinematic, with the 'Mech you chose in place of the Atlas), why the heck not?
