Victory and taunting animations would be very rad. Gladiator matches would benifit so much from this if they include them. I would pay $2 for my mech to do a little river stomp.

Paint and camoflages in general would be cool. They could have basic functional camos, but the really neat ones can be charged I would pay for having my mech decked out in gold ^^.

Also I remember in city of heroes a long time ago you could fiddle with the colors of your super moves: So why not change the color of your lasers, gauss trail, or missle smoke.

I would like to have some way in seeing what all those would look like before buying them. Some visual in the online store would be fantastic.

I'm not sure that's a good idea. Sorry to rain on your parade, but weapon effects are critical in determining weapon loadouts and changing them could mess up gameply.

I have no idea if these has been posted before. 42 pages is a lot ot go through so ignore them if they have.

What about 1v1 fights with a Dev best out of 3?

The buyer picks the Mech but both can chose different load outs (and color) as long as the variant can support them (No Ban Hammer Loadouts on the Devs end).

I think $5-$10 is fair for a random Dev, but for specific Dev it should cost more (I will not list prices, but I am sure the Devs each know what they are worth).

Obviously if it is implemented there would have to be reservations, as I am sure both parties involved have a life. Also win/loss ratio could be posted on the forums in a locked thread for all to behold or to feel the humiliation.

I would also pay for different Mech Voices, but only if done right. An example (I think it is computer generated, a mash up of 3 different accents). If you targeted an Atlas, your mech could say "This is an Atlas, it is very big. It can kill you, am I clear?".

I have read suggestions about paying for more mechbay slots, IMO that would limit people in buying Mechs with cash if they had to buy a slot for it first. If it was included in the price it would be a different story.

I hope what is picked that alters in-game play can still be obtained with grinding. If only I could join your R and a D team.

Trophies: Imagine kill cams screenshots, but mech body parts instead.

Fuzzy dice: yeah this is a no brainer. Pesonally I am more of an air freshener / hula dancer kind of guy.

Prototype variants: Situational mechs. Or mechs that Don't ... well they arent normal and look like they are poopy. If we we looking at this from a lore standpoint, these mechs would have never seen mass production, be it they weren't in high demand, or were just stupid expensive.
That is until some derp goes and finds a way to make them stupid amazing (note: this does not mean OP, just fun as hell.)
Examples would be a Medic Jenner or and EWAR Atlas with the express purpose of being battle support. ie Mechs without guns, paper tigers that snipe well, etc etc.

I will pay a reasonable sum of money, not to exceed $20 a month, so I can constantly one or two-shot F2P players, and cool my heatsinks with their tears.

I didn't read the whole discussion, so please forgive me if the idea was already explained:

I think a cool add-on could be some in-game unit that can be actually mounted on the mech, but that doesn't affect in any way the combat stats. Practical examples could be:

Clacsons and speakers: a device that allow you to influence sound on a determined area of the gameplay, so that your Mech can honk or shout to an overhelming enemy wolfpack "come get some" in dukenukem style.

Firework device: with a mere 1/2 ton you can entertain your team or distract your enemy with amazing fireworks. It even works with zombie assaluts! (cit.)

Some "limiting" device that could boost your pilot's developement. ex: a 3 tons "aid box for needing population", that's useless in battle but gives you some kind of honour, credits or "karma" that should give some flavour to your pilot's background. Maybe even titles, that's your work to make it work!

Merchendice - Thinks like:
  • Minatures exatcly replicating the asthetic look of a 'mech saved in your 'mechlab.
  • T-shirts.
  • a physical install CD complete with Box, instructions, and development artwork / videos / notes
  • Posters. (you guys have already done the work eg http://static.mwomer...B03A088ED84.jpg )
These are things I would pay for. Admitadly not a huge amount of profit from things like this I know and it needs a whole lot of new marketing and things like the mini's need to be checked for existing copywright.. but still cool ltlle things that I think alot of fand would pay for ;)

Second idea - I know this probobly will not happen but I think it would be awesome so I will just say it: I would like to be able to play this LAN. I am a social gamer. MWO appeals to me on so many levels, but there are times when I want o get together with my mates (We have a social group we call Friday Night Lan 'FNL') an play games. I realsie teh ONLINE part of MWO, but still I WOULD PAY for teh ability to have a LAN capabale version even if it was a Galditor/Areana style watered down version just to team up with freinds or FFA and duke it out (I am sure you guys have noticed how fun teh atmosphere is in your 'friends and family Beta' http://mwomercs.com/...deo/8l6JB4ugUsI )

Third idea - Mostly what has already been stated. things like:
  • The Monlthy SIgn up for XP/C-Bill bonus (A feature I personally will not buy but think is a great idea to help people play and get up there a litlle faster but not giving any unfare advantage to people with more money to spend. Hmm ok so maybe I might buy it once or twice if i go on holidays or get sick so i can 'catch up' with any freinds who bought an extra mech during my down time).
  • Custom decals
  • Hula Girl(s)
  • Registration of non-cannon Merc-Corps
  • Vantity asthetic customisations
That is my opinion. This is a game I would have bought off the shelf if was a retail title so I am already sold. However I think the way you guys are going with this has a lot of potential to appeal to a wider veriety of gamers so best of luck and I hope you all get payed for the hard work B)

I might pony up some cash to get assets I want to use, like the Warhammer, Riffleman, Marauder...basically the "Unseen" mechs. You won't catch me spending much on any game anyway. I don't buy the latest games, I wait till they are about $20 or less.

I can easily say what I will pay for.

I will pay for new mechs that have abilities that I cannot put on an existing mech.

I will pay to have my unit insignia on my Mech in game.

I will pay for repairs and ammo if need be. I am hoping there will be some meta-game mechanic like contracts that helps defer some cost if I lose, and gives me a profit if I win.

I would pay for a chance to play some cooperative, historical scenarios with my friends. This may require a few PvE instances, but it would be worth it.

I would pay to have an interactive video record of a particularly great battle in which I've taken part.

How about the ability to "buy" server time in blocks or sessions, for groups made up of specific gamers, to allow practice training for squad tactics and coordination? This would also allow testing of new recruits, non-server/external ranking, in known and repeatable conditions. It would also allow wildly imbalanced fights, or ones with player-decided objectives, things that might be difficult or impossible to do w/ the regular matching setup, but are certainly RP and in the spirit of the game.

Add a variety of "fun" modes that aren't strictly game related: things like "tag" (all mechs only have a single small laser to pass the "it"), increasingly difficult obstacle and/or piloting courses, gunnery ranges, etc. With the infrastructure they have, you could probably do a really neat mech based chess match too, for instance... Basically things to do that use their IP and infrastructure to keep folks playing (and paying) even when they aren't in the mood to do the heavy metal mambo.

They could also set up a "test run" mech rentals, perhaps separate from the regular skirmishes- kind of a try-before-you-buy option for the various mechs, for a nominal fee. If they keep it cheap, I could certainly see them cleaning up on volume (maybe sell them in sets/blocks of 5 or something, to minimize losses from transaction fees?) This would also give them an added perk for the subscriptions (i.e. x number of free trial runs/week or something).

Still thinking about it...

Customization of my BattleMech is very valuable to me. I'd also be willing to pay for voice talent, if it gave me the ability to adjust the computer voice providing system warnings or the ability to broadcast taunts and commands in game.

Lets see ... Cockpit decoration?check
How about A custom mechab? I have posted this before in the general discussions but it has *drowned*.
Think of how Armored Core V does it. Not only you can change from a typical garage to the badlands camp you set up, but also you can add or.remove components from your mechlab. I.e. add more cranes, show ammo stock, more crew walking around, etc. Then you can also add a free look mode and gaze at the mech for hours..*sigh* i love doing that... and hey it can also let you take screenies which can become your new wallpaper and adds depth for roleplayers

...to clarify, you mean "Chrome Colored Rounds", not "Autocannon Rounds that are better", right?

Otherwise, all those things would be nice.

Another thing, mentioned in another topic, would be the ability to pay to put a custom "ad" on a billboard, that would appear in matches you played in. Obviously have to restrict it (No personal attacks, no giant phallic objects, etc.), and the volume of billboards that they might get could make it so you have a near-zero chance of it appearing in matches you aren't in, but it would be awesome to have a billboard advertising your, well, awesomeness. So you can get blown to smitheroons below it. Posted Image

Hmmm, my company may pay for something like this. And since I own the company.... :P Just look at the revenue Goodgle makes for adds!

I think it really wouldn't bother me if I couldn't have my own custom decals but it would be cool to have an original decals. I was thinking about this today actually and I came up with a easy to implement cost effective way to make this so.

1. You can only buy original decals. (otherwise you choose from a list of 20 default ones)

2. You have 2 Decals, one for your Merc Corp and one for your Lance.

3. There is a big list of Decals to choose from, once your purchase the decals no one else can use them, only your Merc Corp or Lance.

4. Decals would cost something like $30 for a Merc Corp and $10 for a Lance.

I think this is more of a realistic idea that the Devs would look at. The money makes it worth their time, they don't have to look at crude pictures people send in all day and they would be able to make them in the correct format and size. I also think its a pretty neat idea to have two different decals like that, kinda like, I'm this flavor of this brand :D.

There is only one thing on my wish list at this point: Hatchetman.

Other than that, I'll let the founder's tag talk for itself.
