Well its hard telling with you cappellans, I mean, you could be joking, or you really could be trying to kill us.

Or we can be joking with you as we plan to kill you.... :)

What book Dal10? They wrote hundreds of them over this topic. And LIao sponsored writing is always a little bit coloured in the 'treacherous Davion' direction. I concede the ROM part of the raid on New Avalon (My bad but all Liao units look the same to me = worthless)
The raid that maimed Lord Justin certainly did not start it's life in the mind of any Davion agency as far as I know. If you have proof, sell it to a newspaper, they certainly would pay big stacks of c-bills for it)
(and if it was again an outgame remarl..will you never learn :P . Btw alot of clairvoyants here so it seems. Remeber it's 3049. Write accordingly. Or don't because I can't do ***** about it :) )

(i rarely write in character, at least until i set up one for myself. so if you want to play RP-wise on forums just ignore my OOC comments. I have no problems with people ignoring me for reasons like that. Plus you have to admit that the mere act of mechwarriors from all the different successor states talking breaks any sort of RP format.)
I bought a notebook from the black market that is supposedly from Gray Noton, and ex-solaris champion. He claims that the daviots were the ones who hired him and the unit of cicada's to attack kittery. (In reality i am going to retract my statement that it was a davion set-up. I checked sarna and i was wrong. however there was a low level warfare between all the houses between the 3rd succession war and the 4th. which are just a few years apart. Mainly i just did this because i am tired of gattling's i am greater than thou attitude. arrogant people **** me off. Que gattling acting even more arrogant than normal.)

Just ignore Gattling then dal10. All he's done for the last two weeks is troll various House forums looking to create flame-wars. While I respect the Skye Rangers, allowing one of their members to become such a vocal point for uncouth behavior is in bad taste. The Steiner units will get a rude awakening once CW starts if they think that they are better than everyone else. Pilots of House Liao, Kurita, and Marik should rise above the remarks of trolls, we will face them on the battlefield.

If gattling was just some random troll, i would ignore him. but he already made this personal, I am just of the opinion that he needs to be knocked down a notch or 2.

I have already ceased talking about this as I have been directly ordered to do so. Perhaps the two of you should consider doing the same. And in the future Dal, stay out of my threads...

You're lucky the people who actually banned you can tolerate you more than I can.

I can really see this happening. Stackpole did paint Hanse up to be a 'good guy,' but the man certainly was a shrewd individual. I don't believe that he would stoop to hiring a bunch of Cicada's and Noton (Greatest Solaris champ ever) to raid kittery. For no other reason as staging a trial by fire for the training cadre. Justin getting maimed was unfortunate, but Hanse did turn it to his advantage.

And small raids and border skirmishes are nothing new even during times of peace, it's kind of a way that the great houses flex their muscles.

What can they really do to me anymore. Ban me again? I was asked to tone it down and i have done so. But I do not take insults like the ones you have been throwing at me ever since i was banned lying down. Art nor any of the other rangers has the power to do anything to me here. So their good will or lack of, is of little to no concern of me. Also you stop trolling everyone else, i will leave your posts alone. deal?

Dig a little deeper into the lore, the entire region that House Steiner rules is mostly made of eastern European culture, Polish settlers played a very big role in founding many of the worlds. There is also a solid Scottish presence. While the ruling house might have German roots the culutre is more European oriented.

Um, that applies to almost all the Houses? Davion is French, and English primarily.

I thought Steiner also had some Russian in them. Marik I sort of pictured as more American, who are they supposed to be?

Well to be fair in 3049 the Russian part is all Davion/Steiner owned. Honestly the most Russian group are the Clans with their founder being Kerensky <--- can't get more Russian then that.

I always though that the russian side of Liao was the marik facing side.

There's also a good mix of Italian. Mostly in the Isle of Skye region though..

Judging from the dominant languages it seems that they are from some of the Baltic countries... Romania, and some Greek if memory serves

Liao is part Russian, Davion is part Russian, New Samarkand district (or whatewer) of Kurita in part Russian, some worlds in FWL... Steiner has some Russians but not much. FRR has even less. Among the clans the most Russian are Wolf, Snow Raven and Goliath Scorpion,

Sorry, but it's Balkan, not Baltics=). Baltics are FRR mostly. FWL has some American (both northern and southern), South American, Mediterranian (Romanians and Greeks included)
and Indian backgrounds

If you look at the map, you'll see it's the other way around.
Marik facing side is mostly Scottish

The Stiener family crest came from a Polish uprising during the third world war on old Terra. The upraised clenched fist was a symbol of independance and defiance. The Steiner family claimed it as their family crest.

The first crest of the Lyran Common wealth was a three stringed Lyre. One for the Tamar Pact, the Skye Providence, and the Protectorate of Donagal. The Commonwealth was named such because it was formed to be a greater protectin, and prosperity to all three smaller governments.

Durning th first sets of wars, when the Great Kathrien Stiener married the first High Archon, and then was widdowed, the Stiener fist came into use. As more wars continued, mainly against Kurita at the time, and then Marik, the fis proved to be a mor lasting and fitting of a symbol for the Lyran commonwealth.
