He might be talking about the Founders program, but both his Assumptions are wrong. You neither "buy the game", nor "paying monthly"

PGI originally wanted to create a full single player game, however, no one was interested in funding it. You can read more about that here.
The desire for a Single Player campaign has been voiced by many of us on the forums in the past, however, PGI is currently focused on making MWO the best Multiplayer experience possible.
There have been comments made in the past from the developers that they would like to see a single Player campaign but who knows what the future may bring.
The best thing we can do is support the current project and hope it is a success. Hopefully it will lead to future products.
Cheers.

this should be the default sentence in any new created post, when ever anyone tries to make one, so he can think about if his post will be necessary ...

Is it just me or has the overall understanding of the project and/or level of inteligence on this forum dropped drastically since the closed Beta began?

As much as I hate to say it I have noticed the same thing.
I remember back in the days shortly after I registered when you could talk about things in a civilized fashion, and people would ask questions that would actually encourage constructive discussions.
So many threads these days are pretty much just players demanding to get whatever they want in the game regardless of whether it would fit within the rules or lore of the game, or if it would even be possible to do at all.
And most of them will not even listen when you try to explain to them why its not going to happen, because it dont fit with what they want.

Nobody is forcing you to pay anything.
The founders packs are for those who wish to support the development of this game.
One the game goes live you dont have to pay anything for he game.
You dont have to pay for the client to play, that is free.
You dont have to pay any monthly sub, there are none.
The game is totally free to play so if you dont want to pay then you dont have to, you can still play and experience absolutely everything in the game.

The mere thought of Open beta makes me shudder.
Its bad enough as it is, wonder how it will be when Open beta comes and players who dont understand what this game is all about start screaming about how the game is bad and will fail because its not what they expected.

Exactly, or they will have unrealistic hopes for the game, and it will fail to meet their exacting standards and write it off before giving it a go.

I had an argument with a guy about the game and its current state in the beta forums yesterday.
The guy actually said, and he even believed it himself, that he was entitled to a fully working game because he thought he had paid for that, not understanding what it was he had paid for and that the game is still not finished
That is exactly the kind of things I fear will happen when we go open beta, only 1000 times worse
I will admit the game was not quite what I expected when I got into beta the first time.
I had read allot about the game on the forums here and pictured how the game would be, so I did honestly get somewhat disappointed.
Despite that I still think its a great game and has great potential, and when they go live with it, I hope to have many hours of fun playing it.

um.... Kinda a rude response to a valid request. Yes, its a good game, but just going "Fine, don't buy it!" is rude, and truthfully counterproductive of any product (games included). I'm sure this games pvp is great, but why not put a single player or co-op in? This game legend is not a pvp online only genre, it was closer to a rpg story mode game. Adding in single player modes/co-op could gain alot of business, which means more success. But legendary founder or not, if that is the attitude suggestions in beta get around here my membership (and I'm sure many others) will be short lived, few people enjoy rude company....
