I could honestly see Mechwarrior becoming a kinda of E-sport. Its built from the ground up to be very arena like.
I would love to watch the matchs of my fellow unit mates and such.

wouldnt it be better to play instead of watch? just saying.
it is better to play but spectating has always been part of the pro scene if you can't spectate then this will only hurt the competitive area of the game, if the developers have any intention of promoting this game in that area. Besides new players can learn by watching more experienced players use movement and cover to engage & scout, because what I've been seeing online lately are players just running out in the open only to get owned by a hail of missiles chances are they'll never learn unless they have some sort of visual guidance by better players on the proper usage of movement and cover and how to traverse your turret(torso) for best results otherwise there are going to be bad players for a very long time because no one has any guidance.

your just hurting the competitive scene buy saying that, players learn faster by spectating and therefore will have more to add to the overall meta game this will help to produce much better players than that of the previous generation since they had to struggle to learn everything from ground up, there's no point in bringing up a different game because that's not what we're here to discuss. Me personally I would like to see this game hit the pro scene and not become a dead game like it's predecessor MW4MERCS (Say what you want but it's a dead game) why because it didn't have any observer client therefore no one could watch on a large scale no pro circuit = dead game. Hell SC1 is still alive and kicking just saying.

I'd love to see some of the stories I've already read about on the forums here (in this particular game) come to life in post-match breakdowns. Stories of all Atlas against Atlas brawls, or Commandos against Commandos (but not Jenners), or maybe even Atlas against Jenners. I've read all the stories of past matchups between the premades and they sound both awe-inspiring and terrifying! Let's see them all!

I'm all for Spectating...once Solaris VII is added to the game. The Games are a big part of Battletech lore and something fun to add in. But I'd totally be against Spectating on combat matches, for so many different reasons.

If I die in game, I always watch the rest of game, trying to learn new things, tactics, etc.
I want observing here, but will be nice, if you can observing both sides. But there is a problem with chat. If there will be possibility to watch both sides, you can speak with dead on both sides, or with no one?
Or there will be only observers chat? If you will be observer, can you see "Dead" and "Live" chat?

This is funny cause so many people are already watching matches happen.
Then someone comes over and blows them up.
If you want to learn military strategy and tactics, there are lots of good books to read.
