God, we have to go over this with every new mech...

Just because it isn't used in the GAME doesn't mean it isn't used in the UNIVERSE. Removing it for the GAME means changing the mech drastically from its source.

Also, there is talk about melee being added in the future is the Dev's come up with an implimentation of it they like.

My favorite 'Mech, oh how I adore your aggressive, square-cut looks Awesome. I cannot way to sit astride your command chair and execute my will.

And I almost posted last night saying they would never announce the Awesome after all the fuss being made about it on the forums..

That atlas must already have taken one heck of a whooping.

A pristine AS7-D has the following Armour/Internarl per Arm, Side, and Center torsos:

34/17
32/21
43/31

So it must have had, at best and assuming no damage transfer, the following to lose a sequential arm, side, and center torso to 3 PPCs to each location:

13/17
9/21
0/30

Yay Artistic License?

As to the AWS-8Q's ability to alpha 3 consecutive times, that would leave it only at 6 heat (assuming no movement). The thing has *28* heat sinks. Kinda makes the whole "Her cockpit flushed with heat after the first salvo" thing kinda seem more liberally used artistic license. =P

The thing was *built* to be a long-range PPC platform, those are its *only* weapons; they also have a min. range in the TT, which is how you exploit the AWS-8Q having no back up weapons of significance (lol@SLas).

Until the ERPPC comes out and then the min range goes bye bye :)

Thank you, Thank You, Thank You....

After months of Awesome Chuckie Posts, we can now get down to business.

How much for the Mauler in the corner, standing next to the Warhammer? :)

I hear there's gonna be a surprise Mech reveal on Sunday... maybe Urbie?

Ugh.. quit starting rumors :)

NOTHING is revealed on a Sunday.. or much of any other day than a Wed (and occasionally a Tuesday Night)

This I think we learned during GDC week :)

Sweet...when I can manage the heat well, I do very good in this mech. Generally I like some lights, definitely mediums and heavies! :) Thank you devs!

FD played it safe with this one, more of a slight facelift than a redesign. It was the right thing to do though- the Awesome was a good looking mech to start off with, and changing this icon too much would have resulted in many bitchfits. I like it!
