I've played many many PC games over the past 25 years, and one of my favorites was MW2 in the 90s. Great opening scene, and we actually got dial-up to work!
I'm having a great time with MWO, and being older, maybe I have the patience to deal with the bugs that pop up, AND the fact that the game has moved both backwards and forward over the months. Mostly forward.
I love the short games LOL! Because it fits in with my home life: I can get up and do a few things between, or tell my wife to wait a minute for the match to be done. Or pull myself away at midnight after "one more, one more, just one more match". I like finding new friends (House Liao for example) to TS with (and win, a lot), so that's no problem for me either.
The graphics are very solid, but I have to say, not any kind of step forward. They are the basically gorgeous graphics that we FPS people have come to expect in games like BF3 . . . but somehow everything seems more cramped and "smaller" here. Maybe that's because the mechs are so big :-). I hope the maps get somewhat bigger. Hope there are more destructible items. Honestly, I think every building should be theoretically destructible, and the wreckage should damage mechs below. Destroying bridges etc - oh yes.
My rating is in the 7-8 range, and I fully expect the game to become better and better. I paid 120 bucks right off the top, and haven't regretted it.

PS - My name (and that of my brothers G and D Strongbad) predates HomeStar Runner. It was our name we made up in the original (1990s) X-Com game. Just some trivia and a very weird coincidence.
