Decided to try a few things and for me it seems to me that the high cost to repair item is actually the FF armor. I have a CN-9 with ferro armor a Uac5 srm6 and srm4 standard engine and internals double heat sinks. each match I'm spending around 90K on just armor repairs if I die not counting structure equipment and ammo. I go out and buy a stock HBK-4sp and total cost for repair? 30K for everything. So yea something is up with the FF armor imo

That's expensive stuff right there! It was expensive back in MW2:Mercs too. Kinda like, you can add 3 tons more of armor but it's just 3 more tons you have to pay to get replaced since you'll be on the field longer.

I tell you what, I've been paying massive stacks of c-bills after every match too.... Not too many matches where I survive. But is it that I'm getting worse or does everyone under 24 just have crazy 'from-the-womb' connection with a keyboard and mouse?

It's quite easy to survive really; just make it your priority to stay alive rather than killing things. Shoot people that aren't shooting at you, and as soon as they shoot you, run behind a teammate. They should use the same tactic, with just one other teammate doing this, you basically double the amount of punishment you can take before dying. Never do 1 vs 1s, always focus fire (in pugs, that means sitting back and following someone semi-competent and engaging the targets they hit). Bait and switch is very useful in this game.

Not possibly, we ALREADY know they are high repair cost...

DHS, XL engine, FF armor etc... are all more expensive to repair and replenish than standard variant.

endo steel structure is the odd one in that it does not seems to increase the cost for the most part for maintenance on average in my test cases so far.

Upgraded the armor on my Atlas and the repair bill increased by close to 100,000 c-bills per match if it was trashed, think i'll stick with the standard armor.

ES wont make much of your Repair bill but FF armor and DHS add serious amounts up to it.
I got rid of FF armor and now only have slightly higher expenses at the repairs.

I have standard armor but still sky high armor repair costs. I'm starting to wonder if the game is charging me FF prices for my standard armor. Maybe I'll upgrade to FF just to see if the repair prices stay the same.

It was as if some here thought they could buy the FF/Endo/DHS and still have similar repair bills to standard equipment. If they had actually paid attention to the patch notes and looked at the graph showing repair costs, they would have seen the cost spikes when mounting the more advanced equipment.

Wow....

just got blasted with "auto repair" off. These are the numbers

repair cost of a 87% armor FF on my Cat: 55k

this, together with another 45k of 66% internals (probably mi XL engine) and the rest, makes... 99k.

With a captured enemy base, and no bonus at all (I got blasted before doing anything), I got about 119k, before premium and founder's mech bonuses. So, If it had been a normal Cat, it would have been a "yay, I made 20k". Because we won. With a captured base.

Being blasted in a lost match would have meant losing money (not counting bonuses, of course).

So, my advice: when buying special equipment, REMEMBER THE MAINTENANCE COST!

Wait for Clan Tech, guys, it should be fun. I don't think clan tech will be too popular. And if it makes you a prioritary target, even less. But hey, we're Inner Sphere. Struggling with money is what we do. And anyway, those who don't want to spend real money will be stuck with 4 mechs, so what would they spend their money on if not repairs?

I wouldn't want to know how expensive dropping in an Atlas with FF and a 300XL engine can get, but hey, you jump in a mech coated in gold, don't get surprised if it's expensive to repair when you get blasted.

I'll probably keep a mech or 2 with normal tech so I can actually make money, and the expensive mechs for important matches.

And, heh, if you get broke, you can always play a couple of rounds in a trial mech and recover yourself.

Don't use FF, you armor almost always gets more damaged than your internals, thus endosteel ends up costing less in repairs. It also give better weight reductions.

Even without upgraded tech people are claiming much larger repair and rearm costs.

What the guy who posted this says isnt true ...
Either its a bug or just a really ******* dumb idea of the developers but I equipped standard armor and I pay like 90 000 per match.
Thats so ********. I also send a ticket in but who knows what I will get as an answer.

I'm not sure that it is the FF running up the armour bills, I'm using standard armour and still getting a lot of pain repairing it. Average repair bill is somewhere around 65-80k CBills, and armour is always well over half of that. Either everyone is being charged FF prices for repairs, or the basic cost for repairing armour has been increased a lot.
It seems wrong that simple steel plates should cost this much to repair - expensive FF or something, sure, but standard armour should be fairly cheap. That's what you're HOPING will take the damage, after all. I can only imagine how painful it is for anything heavier than a Hunchback.

test it again then if u can,

i tested mine on a catapult and can see a clear step between FF and regular armor.

My Catapult C1 have about 360-380 points of armor or so, i tested it with FF and regular...

with regular armor my armor repair bill is around 30-40K on average on destruction
with FF armor the armor repair bill shoots up to almost 70 to 80K on average when i am destroyed.

FF armor plus other expensive gears inside makes the repair bill well over 100K on destruction.

the price for standard armor doubled with this last patch, was just over 10k for 1 ton of armor, now its over 20k for 1 ton, this is standard armor of course. even if your not damaged that badly you still pay out the nose for it

yep... and FF armor is EVEN more expensive at nearly 40K per ton....

repair cost on an FF armored mech even when it's merely damaged on the armor is staggering...
