This is not being caused by massive memory consumption on my end. my .exe file is fairly small...not the 1.5GB it was before.

Same, my memory usage seems normal, however I still suffer the bug.

Happens to me first match every time, and stays with me every match..... like everyone else it wont happen unless I look towards the enemy start spot / mechs or as another poster has stated , towards the centre of the map...

Right after getting the 4FPS bug this time i got a CTD and an error message saying memory allocation error and a number that i dont remember.

I have a quad core, 4GB memory, XP sp3, DirectX 9, 1280 x 1024 resolution with an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT card.

Maybe a stupid question here, but... Will this game run anything other than DX9?

I'm getting the 4fps bug as well and I'm running Direct X 9. So far everyone with the bug is running DX9.

Is there anyone here getting the 4fps bug while running DX10 or DX11?

Core i7-920 - Stock clock (Never ever overclocked)
Asus P6T
Two Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1GB eVGA SSC+ in SLI, Driver 301.42, Driver set to force use of only one card (performance worse with SLI on)
12GB DDR3, All matched G.SKILL 2GB x 6 (Two kits of model F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ)
Windows 7 64 Bit Ultimate
DirectX 11
2048x1536, In-Game 1600x1200
Medium Quality

Had this problem a while back. The match went fine until suddenly the FPS would just crash hard if I looked at the center of the map. This was on River City and there was a lot of destroyed 'Mechs in the water. Not sure the composition (was a PUG). If it makes a difference I was at the downed dropship spawn in a Jenner when it happened. I couldn't even defend myself it was so bad.

I also get the bug intermittently. It happens at about match 7 out of the first 10. Have to reset the client then all is fine.

Specs:

Phenom II X6 1055T @ 2.8Ghz

4Gb DDR2 1066 Mem

Sapphire Radeon HD6870 with 1Gb GDDR5 @ 900 and 1050

AMD Vision setup

For those of you who are getting the bug.. Will lowering your ingame graphics settings cause the bug to happen later than usual? (more matches) And then by increasing your ingame graphics settings, does it make the bug happen sooner than usual (from a client restart)?

I'll try to when I play next. It's 10:30pm for me. I have all day tomorrow to test and try to reproduce.

Get MSI Afterburner or an equivalent

Create a new profile identical to your current clockspeeds etc. so if it's 900mhz, have your profile at 900mhz.

Apply this saved profile to both 2D and 3D profiles.

Some users apparently have issues with corrupt shader cache files.
Delete those files from MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders

Thanks Chronojam for posting this possible solution...

Unfortunately I can't try till tomorrow... But if some of you get the urge to try this solution for the 4fps bug, please chime in here if it is a valid workaround.

I would say its a graphics card related bug.

I play on WinXP
NVidia 440 with 1GB
medium graphics settings

The bug starts repeatedly in the 6th match. 4FPS when having a certain (seems different every time) mech (most likely atlas or cat) mech in front (not necessary visible)

If I continue to play i get repeatedly graphic errors and then blue screen of death. Sometimes 2 minutes later, sometimes I can play a whole match (+ the one bug started ) without (and of course then I'm restarting).

@Buzz1313: I don't think it changes - at least its not very much from high to medium. I will try it today if I remember.

The only problem...?? As of now, the game is still only using DX9!!! Comppro may have DX11 installed (like the vast majority of us)... but the game is not using it...

Check the In-Game Options out... the Section for Direct X is still greyed out... they've not intro'd DX11 support yet... tho' hopefully that's coming very soon...

With the same text as the last a month ago? Or with the added "nothing changed"? *cough*

Add the "nothing changed" *cough* for effect.

Maybe they'll get the point...

The above mentioned Workaround works for me :o at least for about 30 matches then the FPS drops like dubstep

folder is (if installet without changing the directory to a custom one) locatet at

C:/Games/Piranha Games/Mechwarrior Online/USER/Shaders

the said "Shaders" folder is the one you want to delete.

Also it helps if you go to the Graphic settings and set "Shading" to as low as possible. That way you gain more time before you re-encounter the problem.

As mentioned it helps for a limitet time. Just re-delete the folder again if you encounter the FPS drop.

All your thanks doesnt belong to me for that workaround. Thanks goes to the Guest in the second Post!

With the new forum system I can't find where to send a ticket.
