Not really, but it would be fun.

XL300
Endo
15 DHS
Large Laser LT
Large Laser RT
Medium Laser RA
Medium Laser LA
Small Laser H
AMS: LA, RA, LT, RT (two tons ammo)

Paint the thing like a castle or wall or WH40K Imperial Fist marine.

Add in appropriate quirks like a huge torso twist or something.

I vote for 180 degree torso twist.

My friend suggested 360 but I think that is far too much. 180 lets the thing really live up to its moniker as a mobile energy turret / umbrella.

Nice. I'd love to see a hero Hunchback with something like:

5 Energy (2RT, H, 2LT)
2 Missile (4 tubes each) (RA, LA)

-Or-

1 Missile (4 tubes) (H)
2 Ballistic (RT, LT)
2 Energy (Ra, LA)

Maybe throw on up to a 300 engine?

Gotta be named Discoball if it can spin around.

Only if it can build deployable walls and turrets.

If I could make a hero Hunchback this would be it

Armor 320/338 (Standard 4G armor)
Upgrades: Endo Steel and Double Heat Sinks
Engine & Equipment: 250XL & Case x2
Heat Sinks: 10 DHS

Hard Points
Head - 1 Energy
Right Torso - 1 Ballistic
Left Torso - 1 Ballistic, 1 AMS
Right Arm - 1 Energy
Left Arm - 1 Energy

Stock Loadout
2x AC5 (Left Torso & Right Torso)
1x AMS (Left Torso)
2x Medium Lasers (Left & Right Arms)
1x Small Laser (Head)
4 tons of AC5 Ammo (120 rounds)
1 ton AMS ammo (1000 rounds)

Internals would look like:

Right Arm
Medium Laser

Right Torso
AC5
AC5 Ammo
AC5 Ammo
CASE

Center Torso
XL 250 Engine

Head
Small Laser

Left Torso
AMS
AC5
AC5 Ammo
AC5 Ammo
AMS Ammo
CASE

Left Arm
Medium Laser

I'm aware using CASE with an XL engine is stupid and makes no sense. I'm also aware plenty of lore variants use them combined (Centurion D anyone?). Obviously they can be removed and the extra tonnage can be used for more armor & upgrading the small to a medium laser or adding more ammo. I think it's an interesting set up for a hero mech. Inspriation came from the Hunchback IIC. And technically with the right build you could fit two AC20's on it.

Think about it.

CASE + XL is stupid within the realm of MWO, absolutely. Every build that has it is a TT/fluff build, none of their made-up Hero Mechs has it. Why? Because, since it is so useless in this game it's a dumb waste of everybodys time to design an original Mech with CASE + XL. Replace the CASE with an extra heatsink, replace it with literally anything else because nothing would be as pointlessly dumb as shoving CASE on there.

The likelyhood of a hero mech arriving on a Founder chassis (Atlas, Cat, Hunch, Jenner) is very very low.

I would never put an XL on a hunchback, it's a death sentence.

Works fine if the mech isn't pulling a lot of aggro, or if it is a 4SP. The 4SP has two hunches, and both are much lower, making it harder to get planted.

Harder, not impossible. I've lost one shoulder in my 4SP very often. Still, it is not any more a 'death sentence' than several other mechs here, and far less than the 4G, 4P, or 4H.

In any event this was a joke (unless PGI runs with it) and the XL was just to make the thing ungodly fast, but still have few enough energy that no one could go back to closed beta 4P bullshart.

I use an XL engine in my 4G now, since it has three AC2 in the shoulder. When the AC2s are shot out I might as well be dead so I really don't mind the XL.

Lol, yes they do, I don't use xl on any of my Hunchies as I figure people will just hammer my hunch/mini hunches out of sheer habit ;)
