I read elsewhere that Endo Steel saved 5% off the weight of the mech in question.

Last night I purchased Endo Steel for my 35 ton Jenner.
Doing the math, I expected 1.75 tons to free up.
However, only 1.5 tons became available.

Can anyone else verify this?
Is my understanding of Endo Steel incorrect or is there some other issue?

The same thing happens on the Commando and Catapult. You'd expect to save 1.25 and 3.25 but only save 1 and 3. There's a "round up to the nearest half ton" rule in the TT rules for ES. Any of the x5 ton Mechs will be .25 tons heavier than 5% of their tonnage.

Endo steel rounds DOWN to the nearest half ton. Sorry. :D

I do agree that extra quarter ton would be cool for armor, but it just doesn't work that way in canon, and they stuck with it in the mechlab code.
