I have submitted a big report about this already, but I want to spread the word.

My group recently played an organized drop against another organized team. We launched on Caustic Valley, and they pushed for a cap where a large brawl ensued.

The brawl was even. However, the enemy team purposely overheated and suicided two mechs. This meant that although only one mech was left alive on each team the score was 5-7 in their favor. The last enemy mech on their team just ran away and hid. The match ended in a defeat for us as time expired.

I will not name and shame per forum rules and because I'm not a huge ****. But if organized play is ever to catch on in this game this kind of a bug needs a higher priority.

When there is premade vs premade this wont be an issue. Hopefully the first phase of matchmaking hits us soon. :(

This was a premade vs premade, organized and arranged sync drop. Once we get to phase two with uneven teams you could further exploit this.

people suicide themselves mainly to avoid ruining their kdr, it is sad and pathetic.

I suicided once, went out of bounds, but came back and the timer went away on my screen, so I stopped, then a few seconds later boom Gregore has killed Gregore. wtf!
At least I was in a trial.

And they told you they purposely overheated and suicided?? Just wondering... in the midst of a brawl, we all know you sometime push your Mech to its limits...

Anywho...

Yes. They admitted to it in chat.

Even if they didn't admit to it - Their assaults were all dead. We had a nearly full-health Atlas left against a badly damaged dragon, a badly damaged centurion and a approximately half-health Jenner. When it's 3 on 1 and suddenly two (maybe one would make it plausible) mechs suddenly explode from overheating? Give me a break.

But let's just say that I give them the benefit of the doubt and they didn't mean to do this - it can still be exploited by teams who want to exploit it. It's not hard to do.

So in the end, it doesn't matter at all if they meant to do it or not it's an exploit that changed what would have been a draw into a defeat.

In a game last night I got caught inside a small hill on the Forest map. No one could target me so I blew my ‘mech up. Despite the suicide I still received c-bills. Also, I never noticed that a 'suicides' didn't count.

How can you give the benefit of the doubt to someone who admitted he did something... just wondering?

And can you suicide NOT un purpose... i mean.. it's suicide.

Uhhh... you can overheat and kill yourself on purpose. Otherwise known as "suiciding on purpose." Try it sometime.

And me giving the benefit of the doubt to them was a hypothetical situation to illustrate that it doesn't matter whether or not it happened on purpose or by accident it is a bug that can be easily exploited.

Ok, you've got me. I've even changed the thread title to make you not so worried about confusing words.

You're still not doing anything to really contribute to the conversation about this bug or prove that this wasn't intentional.
