AFKers or botters, whatever they are they are killing the enjoyment and possibility of victory by joining a match and doing NOTHING.

I really wish something was done about this. Constantly having atleast 1 afker and sometimes 3 or 4 translate into certain defeat and wasting even more time doing the c-bill grind.

They're working on it.

And frankly, it could be a lot of different issues. Maybe the guys PC locked. Maybe he's trying to get that old joystick working. Maybe his dog threw up all over his feet. Or maybe he's just trying to farm c-bills.

Either way, i believe they are implementing a system that will tell if people are consistently going AFK and punishing them for it.

We are addressing several known issues with farming.

Trial Mech Locking
  • Trial Mechs will now work the same as any BattleMech, they are locked until the match ends. This ends the ability for a macro player to "churn" matches to maximize CB.
Quitting/Disconnecting Early - While Still Alive
  • You will only receive rewards up to the point of disconnection.
  • NOTE: If you are dead, you will receive earned rewards, plus match rewards.
Idle/AFK
  • Players that fail to provide any input will be kicked from a match Although it does not prevent a macro player from simply putting in inputs, it forces them to LOOK like a bot.
Abusing this system is considered a violation of the TOS/COC.

Make trial mechs worth something and people might actually bothering to play when they're stuck with them.

Feel free to comment here: http://mwomercs.com/...-start-raising/

I have also considered a thought brought on by another post:

Keep the rotating trial mechs, but allow people to modify it with what money they earn, but disallow them access to things like ES, FF, XL, dHS etc, and then get rid of the the win/loss bonus. Once that is done they just have to make sure that the role based rewards are balanced.

Bingo - fixes Suicide/AFK farming and allows some modification in the Mechbay

A couple matches ago a "player" wasnt afk until the big skirmish started then went to a far corner and powered down. Then powered back up when he was the only one left and said in all chat "I had to make a sandwich sorry".

This isn't really a solution to the problem that AFKing and suicide rushing are more effective money earners than actually trying to play a good game in a trial mech.

I was there for that match Milky on the opposing side. I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. If you are on the EU TS server drop on down to [HSX] Headshot Mercs channel and we'll be glad to have ya.
