ECM

We've had several internal playtests. Overall I'm excited to see this hit the battlefield, as it adds a very interesting tactical component. However, in its current state is very overpowered and makes certain mech builds even more useful (Gausspults). There was some general usability feedback, along making it a bit more obvious to your team, that ECM is equipped. We're keeping it in test until some HUD/BattleGrid changes help smooth out communication, along with making sure the ECM is no OP. For those wanting to hide from LRMs, this will be your must have item.

New Camo Spec

Exciting stuff! Players can customize their mechs skin and pattern for MC. The system is very easy to use, select a skin, select up to 3 colors and hit the save button. Like a paint shop, changes are permanent and erase any previous pain schemes. There will be some free skins, CB only content, but mostly camo spec will require MC to make changes.


Sounds pretty cool so far, especially the cockpit damage part :D

Am I blind or is there really no match-maker changes in those notes?

You're not blind. Also, *wave* me "testing" DHS in anything of reasonable size.

Thank god i am not the only one!

And artemis. As in Artemis FCS that improves accuracy of LRMS and SRMS?
Arent LRMS bloody accurate powerfull already?
Just some worries, unless somebody can shed some light in this

The serious flaws of the game stay untouched. Hell, even the menu is still bugged and we are in Open Beta. Back then, when I was a hardcore-type of a player they called that Pre-Alpha.

If they wantet to have a matchmaling they could have done it since MANY months. Cause even in CLosed Beta people screamed for it. But I highly doubt there will be a matchmaking at all.

Well no.... it will come.... after game droped in Playerbase.

No it doesnt. They just wait a bit after they blew up their 4 mechs.... devs, brain on please.

Yeah it seems they just forgot to put it in. Game saved.

I did not notice the "not" there. WTF? That better mean that there is a full pub vs premades split.

This game has it's flaws, but when you say something rediculous like that your words lose any legitimacy, and in fact make those that disagree with you seem much more reasonable.

You didn't even read what I wrote. I wrote that I'd never expect a friggin MENU (!) to be buggy in a game that reaches the stage of Open Beta. That, my friend, is embarassing. Especially when you consider that it has been buggy for how long now? Months?

Cockpit damage FX? WOW That was one of my request way back in closed beta (the other request was pilot hand animation on joystick and throttle). Thanks PGI for listening and implementing my requests. :) :)

Not to complain but does it seem odd to anyone the part about customizing colors costing MC? I mean buying patterns with MC seems normal and paying Cbills fot new paint makes sense, but real money every time?

Just seems like paying money every time you want to swap a skin in any other FPS. Hopefully there's at least a preview.

Not sure if anyone else caught this, but the most interesting part to me is the description of ECM. It's suggesting ECM can be put on K2 which also implies there are no, or few limitations on which mechs can carry ECM.

Don't mind me, I'll just be sneaking up behind you with a 63 alpha at 90km/h

Oh good, a fix for the ruddy HDR blackouts...

Customizing appearance with MC sounds sensible normal, but they better not charge us twice for the same color if we want to swap between them.

Damn. The Conquest mode isn't being added. That's the thing I was anticipating the most. Hopefully we'll get it with the Cataphract patch on the 13th.

BwaaHaaHaHa!

You all realize this is nothing right? This literally means zero change to the current system. No where in any of the Phase 1 descriptions were partial pre's garunteed to face another partial pre. The original Phase 1 simply threw a 4 man (or smaller) group into the general "bucket" of Pugs, with random chance determining if another partial would queue up on the otherside (or even there own side).....So...with NO size restrictions...we're left with ANY premade group being thrown in the "bucket" of Pugs, with a random chance of queueing up against another pre...Oh wait! That's exactly as it is right now!

Bravo PGI....Bravo...smoke and mirrors :)
