Hi, I'm loving this game and would like to put some money in.

However this is still a beta, will I lose my progress at the final release and lose the money I put into it?

Also, is there some kind of FAQ around for new players? I've only seen the movie on youtube.

It is just Beta in name, there will be no further resets and they will take your money.

And the Youtube-Video IS the FAQ for new players.

Spend your money and enjoy.

There is a fairly steep learning curve. A lot of learning to play the game is getting the crap blown out of you until you find something that suits your playstyle.

Also, getting on the giant public teamspeak server will increase your game knowledge exponentially. There's anywhere from 150-350 players on at any given time during the day who are all friendly and most of them are very knowledgeable. Even if you don't have a mic, there's a chatbox and it's much better than going solo =)

Feel free to send PMs and ask questions about the game. The forums are difficult to navigate at times.

As there is no built-in VOIP or Lobby system it's hard to ask in-game. Currently there is a C3 channel for MWO (but nobody uses it at all) and there are several TeamSpeak servers that have training channels and many people are happy to group.

The second and third posts in the following thread have the server name and password for the (currently) top three populated TS servers

Sucks that you have to use an external program, but that's what we have to work with.
