Wrong.... There have been quite a few threads on quads during beta, and at least a sizable minority of people who do want them in game, Including myself....and I would pay good money for a quad like the Goliath if they did a decent job implementing it. There might even be enough of us willing to pay, and others who would give it a shot to justify the development time/resources...and make the company a little money. It would add to mech and overall gameplay diversity also. How is that a bad thing? Not like you have to pilot it if you don't want to...and is it really so much to ask in the great scheme of the game that we get 1 or 2 quads?

Are others so selfish that they want to see us denied that just because they don't want to pilot them? I hate the stalker...I wish they'd do the highlander first....but I don't want them to scrap the stalker for good, and screw all the people who were looking forward to it.

Sadly the devs have said it isn't on the to do list, at least for now. No mw game that I know of has ever done quads...I would love to see them in game.

Looks like in this game time frame, the Goliath, scorpion, and thunder stallion are the only available quads until clans show up and then there is at least the snow fox. (xanthos is extinct I think) My pick if they did one would be the Goliath if it looked remotely like these..

Not entirely true. MW2 allowed you to use the Spider in instant action with a special code. It was pretty cool.

I'd be seriously impressed if PGI could even pull off the animation for quads. I doubt they could pull it off in a convincing manner without a rework to the engine. There's a lot more gestures relating to terrain that a quad uses over a bipedal. For ex. it's a lot less obvious when a bipedal walker has 1 foot over the edge of a cliff and it floats there, but with the greater amount of avatar to surface ratio it would totally chintzy on a quad. Gravity (havoc or equivalent) doesn't exist until you die in this game... have you ever seen a mech stumble on a bump? Same thing.

Land-Air Mechs are actually pretty good if you play them according to their role. No other mech can compete when it comes to fast recon, quick strikers, ambushers, etc... as a LAM.

Also, your opinion is only valid for yourself. There are more people playing than just yourself in this game and we would like to see things like Quads and Land-Air Mechs. We're not saying you have to pilot them, but we would like the option to be able to do so.

Gunghoe, I started a suggestion thread in the suggestion forum that combines both Land-Air Mechs and Quads into a single suggestion.

Id hope we get a quad that has something approximating spinal flex when its in a sprint...I'd hate to have a fast/light quad like a Snow Fox that runs like a stiff AT-AT.

Since there is no turret like torso movement, I'd also hope we get some lateral spinal flew...it'll just look nice and refined...not like some giant toy.

Well I didn't start the thread, I was just supporting the OP because I want quads too. The more the pro-quad people speak up the more likely it is we'll get what we want. We have every right to do so....as you unfortunately have the right to troll us and just generally be negative about the whole issue.

Go dig it up...Pretty sure they said no plan, but didn't absolutely rule it out....as I stated in my post.

The Thunder Fox looks cool and I'm sure Flying Debris would be able to make them all look sweet.

The main problem is that quads will show off the shortcuts taken in the engine. Put one on a slope and it will look really silly unless PGI does a lot of work.

Its a shame, I like quads even though the TT rules for them meant they were just worse than bipeds.

I don't think it would take a rework of the engine...pretty sure the basic capability is there. It isn't like you don't see quadrupedal animals in games, including ones probably using this game engine. There are usually some in mmo's and they are using this engine for a korean mmo i think.

Would just take a decent, half way creative programmer I bet. But you bring up valid issues...there are obstacles and it probably would be more time/effort to do then regular mechs but I think It is more then possible and I think it would be worth it....and either way I want to see it happen :P

As cocoajin brought up, and relating to issues sokitumi brought up, they might actually have to do at least a small amount of spine flex to make em work...I'd be ok with that.

Also another complaint some have mentioned in other threads is they would turn slow, but I think a lot of that could be conquered in how they do the animation, and they could give them side step, so they could just slide out from behind cover...fire, side step back into cover. That would at least negate some issues with them not having torso twist. Also some of the small fast ones in canon are pretty maneuverable and have JJ that would help a lot.

Also they could basically create some fluff that said the weapons are mounted on a floating mount that can be pivoted/raised/lowered to some degree and this would approximate at least in part how bi-ped mechs move/rotate to aim and fire. Notice the guns on one pic of the Goliath look like they are on ball turrets, a somewhat functionally equivalent solution as floating mounts.
