I think we will be seeing a Mech as always, not sure if the special something is a troll or not. (Remember the tag lines for the special Wednesday has always been "something special".)

My guess is closed beta. And here's why: Remember Russ' tweet wrom last Friday about the huge milestone that had been reached? So on Tuesday or Wednesday we heard the big announcement: "We've been in F&F beta for a good two weeks". Does anyone else think that we didn't actually hear about the milestone?! My wild guess is that the milestone was "ready for closed beta". Now speculate on what "ready" means! Another wild guess: They started up the metagame server.

Milestone was all base mechs are done, so 9, 10, 11 and 12 are done, the art team needs work fast to start on, therefore the quick polls with a final winner by Wednesday. Meaning the artists need work to start on. The polls included some mechs and excluded others. Possibly one reason is excluded ones were already being worked on or were unseen and can't be used yet. Included mechs in the polls, are mechs the Dev's are going to use in the future and they were gauging public support to pace how and when they come out. Just saying.

Or we get open beta, unseen and all the rest of the mechs on one big special Wednesday. Ahh its not my birthday, its not Christmas and it sure isn't Halloween. So another mech. I'm ok with that.

This is what devs do! They get your hopes up and then **** all over them. Its best to think its going to be nothing special so when they reveal some mech and dont announce open/closed beta you wont be dissapointed. If they then actually do something super awesome you will be pleasently surprised.

They've known which four mechs won the weight class specific polls since a month ago. Plenty of time to do basic workups/concept art, more so if they've been doing that part since each individual poll was closed. Probably just needs two weeks to get everything up to snuff for a single mech. If they're running really efficiently they could probably do 1 mech a week, but that usually means less polish so I hope they don't push that hard.

or here is a thought, the polls are just Paul being Paul, we all know the mechs that were not in the polls that everyone wanted to see. soooo why not release the base mechs that are the icon mechs, then do the polls for the to be added later

Wed.. I think it will be the first of their four part series on how they are going to make it so you want to give them lots of money. This and each of the next 3 weds that will take us into late may...they will discuss the econimics of the game and how you can spend money.

Wouldnt take that much time for them to show you a mech since its just artwork, wouldnt dought if most all the mechs that have been in the polls have had their artwork aready done. Takes allot more time to do the 3d modeling but even then eh.

I'd be more surprised about hovercraft or LAMs than quads, but I don't think any of them would be announced.

How about announcing specifics about release (or beta phase dates)? That'd be a big surprise.
