Like the namesake, this trebuchet build is great for dealing damage from a distance while being mobile enough to reposition quickly. At close range, the flamers can force the enemies to overheat, leaving them open to the Gauss Rifle. Top speed is just over 100km/h. The arms are disposable shields.

Mech/Model:
Trebuchet TBT-7K

Right Torso:
2 x Flamer (can be swapped for lasers), 1 x Double Heatsink

Left Torso:
1 x Gauss Rifle

Engine:
XL 310 (Other engines would work depending on your budget). 3 x Double Heat Sinks

Legs:
1 x Gauss Ammo each

Arms:
Nothing!!!

Have fun!

To be frank I can get the Cicada to 100kph, 4 SL with a Guass (3 ton ammo)... it has more staying power and a better profile to use for this type of job.

I like the idea of this build. My main problem with it is that flamers are really lackluster in practice. I want to like them, but even bunched on jenners and hunchbacks in large numbers they have very little effect. Sadly a flamer will really only force an enemy to shut down if they're already riding their heat into the 90s (to be fair I do this consistently.)

I do like the idea of a fast moving gauss carrier though. Personally I prefer to have 3 tons of gauss ammo since I found myself emptying 2 in longer fights. Either way you could make this work pretty well by swapping the flamers for mlas.

The "slap a Gauss on everything" mentality is hilarious.

A Trebuchet is a dedicated missile boat. Out of the 6 possible variants that can be released with 3050 technology, only one has a ballistic hardpoint (TBT-7K), which was used only by the DCMS and for a short period of time.

Yeah, though I wouldn't be surprised to see them use it just for hard point variety.
