Mech Info:

Speed (KPH): 64.8
Tonnage: 50/50
Firepower (Alpha Strike): 54
Heat Efficiency: 0.84
Armor - Standard: 320/338

Usage:

Nothing really unique about this build minus that this mech is not heat efficient. But if you set your MPLS to chain fire then you can manage pretty well. Even in Caustic Valley. Just dont alpha strike unless its a last ditch effort. Keep close to cover and teammates to get close. MPLS don't have the best range but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I'm not too sure I'm a fan. This mech is pretty slow and heat heavy. You're going to be run down by mechs meaner than you, and your heat will limit your ability to put all that damage on target. If you drop the head/hunch to ML's you can upgrade to a Std 250, gain two true (not 1.4) DHS in the process, and still have room for the MPLs on the arms.

I prefer this build. Based on my experience, running the 4P with a 245 or 260 engine will help your survivability. I started with a 245 I ripped off a Jenner, and then moved up to a 260 I ripped off of one of my 3 Cats. I then ran DHS (no endo), and crammed it with heat sinks. By dropping down to regular medium lasers, I was able to put in an AMS and a ton or armor as well. I ran without endo simply because otherwise I'd run out of slots if memory serves,

I run the 2 mediums on chain fire, and the smalls group fired. I use the mediums as I close into range, and the smalls for the heavy hit. I tend to play this as a midfield stalker. I hang back a little, look for targets of opportunities, and then rush in and try to get behind my target and start hitting them in the back with the lasers. I also have the speed to try and either fend off or distract lights & mediums that come for our heavy hitters.

Overall, it's a fun and very cost efficient build to run. No XL, so low repairs, and no ammo to replenish. And you can do some pretty nasty damage if you play it right. Know when to fight, know when to disengage, and have fun pew pewing.

HBK-4P

Endo-Steel
17 Double Heatsinks
250 Engine
9 Medium Lasers
AMS + 2T Ammo
Armor : Maxed out, Legs -1 pt

Overall this mech is not much cooler then the stock variant. Heat efficiency is 0.99. However you generally don't use arm and torso weapons in the same situations. So the effective heat efficiency is 1.12. The main advantage comes from the bigger engine. The extra manoeuvrability helps you to get into positions where you can take good shots.

I run as such:

8 Small Lasers
TAG (head)
AMS (1 ammo)

S250
9 Double Heat Sinks (1.36 Efficiency)

Armor @ 304 (taken from the legs)

1.5 Ton reserved for either BAP or ECM

--------------------------------------------------
Refire rate of the smalls combined with the speed of the S250 creates a deadly little fighter. TAG for extra fire support on your targets, AMS for added survivability.
