This shows a distinct lack of understanding towards the male mind.

5 Thoughts on Girl Gamers By Men Everywhere

1) ZOMG she plays video games?
2) It will give us something to do "before" and "after" know what I mean?
3) She won't complain about the time I spend playing games cause she plays too
4) She might even join my game which means another lance mate, miner, helper, healer, whatever to boost my skills
5) My friends will annoint me as a demi-god for scoring a girl like that

I do agree though that converts are easier. In the last 3.5 years of being "single" again I've only met one cute xbox360 weilding, intelligent (read nerdy) Con goer with mad game skills and while that was fun fun fun the long term prospects were... less than stellar.

Thats what I mean exactly, the obsession, Ive actually seen this IRL too. Ive had alot of GFs, and I havent lost any of them because of my gaming habit.

That is absolutely amazing... I love that letter, and I'll be sharing this link with my friends at AU.

My wife has been very silent on the new NWO coming out. So that tells me that shes gonna hate it when I'm in front of the computer not leaving except to eat or pee. We've been together 12 years and she still remember how I cracked out on MW4 Vengeance when it came out in 2000. I'm sure many of you can remember the glory days of NBT before HC ruined it all. I'd stay up drinking beer and blowing things up all night all day. Women can't stand it when something other than them brings you alot of joy. Thats all it boil down to. Personally, if heaven is not sitting in the cockpit of a Mech raining destruction down on my foes, then I don't wanna go.

And then the OP logs into the server and his wife flays the armour off his 'Mech with her Atlas.

I got it, devs should make games where girls and boys play together, not just some characters, maybe even with real names, oh damn its called Facebook.

I am. Ost fortunate. I have a darling wife who loves to game even more than I. And a Brother-in-law who is also an old battle tech fan.
And a small child who loves both fetching brickabrack and watching things explode.

Still don't know how I'm gonna explain it to the boss...

That's when you start looking for a job that allows you to "work from home" and then go to the local college and recruit someone as an intern to do your work for you, LOL.

Thankfully my poor social skills mean that I am currently (and for the forseeable future considering I am living and working way out beyond the back of nowhere) free to spend as much free time as I desire on MWO :D .

[my gradual spouse conversion process to gamer started with]
"Hey honey, come design our character for Skyrim...."
"Here, why don't you get us past this first bit..."
"Oh just keep going... you don't have to go anywhere specific... just explore"

When she came up for air, she said "Oh man... I must've been there for at least an hour! I've never done that before."
I replied: "Actually, it's been four hours...." <_<

She had gamer eye and everything, it was adorable.

I've been married for nearly 30 years and have a wife who accepts my "hobbies" just as I accept hers. It helps that she needs over 8 hours sleep a night and I don't. She has accepted that I will probably be logged in for about 72 hours straight when MWO launches and will keep the coffee and snacks coming while she is awake, as long as she gets some of my time after that. <_<

Dear Wife,

MWO is coming out soon (that's Mechwarrior Online, you freebirth scum.) So once that happens I'll be in the den for about a week. Do me a favor and slide a pizza or some pancakes under the door every once in a while.

Your Husband

My significant other knows the score i love her but i also love gaming and out of the two she/gaming/she/gaming arrgh i do not know who would lose. at the end of the day i really got into WoW and spent 5 nights a week from walking through the door till midnight on it the other two were for our RP and Wargaming club. i brought a new pc a really comfertable office chair (which got me you spent £150 on a chair???? for at least 2 years) and sat in my home office never seeing her.

I cannot say how much i love her she is not much of a gammer plays mario kart and a few others played a little mech4 and liked it but could not handle the keyboard an mouse controls. i hope she will play a little MWO aswell and with the joysick she has agreed to buy me for my birthday may have an easyer time of it. in the end of the day she is a gammer of another form though plays magic the gathering WH40K and all the RPGs i do and to this end am going to be running a MW 3rd ed game in the summer so she can experiance the background.

We made a deal i had to spend 1 night every week watching a movie with her which she usually feel asleep to.
she is my love support and Dreams and lets be honest if i choose gaming i would become a hermit and if i choose her over gaming i would be a lesser man she understands this and tollerates the obsession
