Something struck me while I was looking at the clan packs: they all have the same boring orange/grey/green skin. Every one the same.

Wouldn't it be totally awesome if the (prime) variants all came with an unique clan-themed skin? The summoner in green/yellow with a jade falcon badge pinned somewhere and the adder in icy blue/white with the ghost bear insignia sticking out, for example?

Or we could go totally nerd and paint each one according to a certain galaxy.

Just a thought.. (and considering the pricing of the mechs they should each have their own unique badass skin IMHO)

Prime Variants are paintable, but not skinnable. So patterns might go for the Standard Variants.

Um, I would not want different skins, I would like them in all Green and Yellow. The problem with that is creating custom skins for each clan. That can cause problems.

The skins could be interchangeable, so if you want all your mechs in jade falcon fashion you could just select it in the mechlab, much like the custom patterns now.

I personally would like the option to run a few mechs ghost-bear style, some falcon-style and switch when I get bored...

*drools at the thought of clan paintjobs* ;)

That could happen if you have some hellblau and black colors lying around.

I just hope that despite the "unique geometry" we can use camo skins on the Primes from the package.

Based on the Founders and Phoenix Packs I doubt it.

And it would seem to me stupid selling a 200$+ pack with that horrible paintjob instead of a unique classic Clan camo. Without the possibility to change it. Why did they change it?

I assume Clan camos will have their rightful place with CW and loyalty points but there are so many possible paintjobs that finding or creating an unique one is not that hard..

What bothers me is originally the art for the mechs had no unique geometry. It was only after they added the a la carte option did they change the art for them. Until that point, there was no reason to assume they would be skin locked. :\

Exactly! If they're too lazy short on time they could just ask the talented artistic community to come up with something, maybe even hold a small competition with some MC as reward or the like...

The funny thing is that they already have some ideas looking at the old camos the concept arts used to have..
