going from standard HS to 1.4HS costs 1.5 mil on an atlas
going back costs 750,000
going BACK to 1.4 HS costs 1.5 mil... um I already bought those once... Is this supposed to be an isk sink then?

Cause looking to see if I can get a better heat profile on one then the other is getting costly

Take your truck to body shop have them put a chrome grill on it. A week later have them put your old grill back on. A week after that have the put the chrome grill back on. You know what there going to charge for all three time too.

The cost to switch is an install charge like wolf74 says. It's not a bug. :(

dang full price installs every time even when we can sell them back the hs (and they will buy it - where your grill analogy falls apart by the way) and no discount? Ow hurts for anyone who wants to even TRY it out. Oh well

I would say the OP does have a bit of a point. They won't charge you for the grill each time. Maybe a 750k charge every time you swap after you buy the double heatsinks the first time?

Yeah swapping out the grill with a grill you bought before an youre gonna be paying labor costs only. If youre getting charged the same you should find a new mechanic O.o

We need an ingame-mechlab in which we can just play around with mechs and their loadouts.

Yes, there should be a cost for switching parts but we should also be able to test configurations to see how that affects our stats without cost.

Maybe in the future when your merc unit takes over a planet, you get free mech lab access... :(

Notice how you have no heatsinks equipped after the change-out? You are pay labor costs to have it made compatible with different sinks. if you want to add the ones you already bought back to the mech that is free.

You have a several million C-Bill piece of equipment. Are you gonna have Pookey from down the street mess with the corrosive coolant system strapped to the nuclear reactor that your butt is sitting directly above, or are you gonna shell out a few more C-Bills to see some licenses and certifications from the guy with the wrench?

Well, you keep old heatsinks themselfs.
So it is not a FULL price, as it actually cost somewhat more the 1.5/0.75mil, unless you have heatsinks in store. :(

Well, another option is to have 2 same mechs with different types of HS. YOU NEVER PAY for changing. :(

1.5 mil is actually cheap if you consider prices for XL300+ engine or capture accelerator module... :(

You should have to pay to switch back. However you should also be able to fully kit your mech out and then get the bill.

"Guys whats my heat efficency going to be with DHS?"

"Cost ya 1.5 mill to find out"

"Hmm okay, here it is"

"HAHAHA you noob, its worse than before"

"Okay can you switch back?"

"Cost ya another 1.5"

"Okay, I am leaving now"

"In what?" [points to a largely disassembled mech]

"...." [grumble] [grumble] [Hands over large pile of money, but leaves a scathing review on Yelp]
