Now of course it only makes sense for you to ally with your past oppressors, the Combine, right?

Glad to see i'm not the only one who thinks the post clan Draconis Combine is more trustworthy than the pre-invasion one.

Almost went with the wolf clan too, but it doesn't specify the warden/crusader faction, so I left them out.

FRR is/was its own house. it was created as a way for comstar and the combine to screw over the fedcom before the next war. it was then enslaved by ghost bear...there are no allies waiting for you in game.

Nah, don't worry, I respect that, but you should make it more clear. :D

I voted strictly neutral for pre-clan invasion. I think that would make sense, to reestablish and build up our forces for the next threat of war. And then once the Clans invade, ally with the rest of the IS against the common enemy.

not true .....
i think i posted this yesterday .....
Description:
One could argue that the Gunslinger is a product of the Clan Invasion and would not exist if not for that violent conflict. The 'Mech was jointly designed by engineers from both the Draconis Combine and the Federated Commonwealth who were in the process of assisting the Free Rasalhague Republic. To power the Gunslinger, a VOX 255 XL Engine is used to give the 'Mech a top speed of 54 kph. This is augmented by a pair of HildCo Model 12 jump jets that allow the Gunslinger to traverse rough terrain and provide extra mobility at close ranges. The 'Mech is also equipped with a Guardian ECM Suite and a Beagle Active Probe, giving the Gunslinger superior detection capabilities and protection from advanced enemy electronic warfare equipment. Finally, the Gunslinger is protected by fifteen and a half tons of armor, giving the 'Mech excellent armor protection.

Pre-invasion, try to stay neutral. After clans arrive, (assuming history is NOT going to totally repeat itself!), ally with the FWL.

*And as I stated in the other post, the FRR is, (historically speaking), closely tied to Comstar, who we really owe our existence to. If I recall, they also helped supply our armed forces with equipment, pre-clan invasion. Not saying that the FRR in this game should just fall over its self in regard to Comstar, but showing a little respect would be advisable.*

As to WHY ally with the FWL? Of all the major Houses in the IS, the FWL

1) Seems to be the closest in viewpoints as our FRR
2) It really only has one enemy house to deal with, (Steiner), due to its alliance with the Capellan Confederation
3) Is transforming it self into an economic & trade power house

Best reason NOT to ally with the FWL would be Word of Blake... But that is a future (?) problem...

I refuse to be one of those who "give in" to the Ghost Bears, I'll be fighting on those last 7 systems to my dying breath.

Sad, that this vote isn't public like the other one. Spies will have it easy to manipulate it.

I can't understand those who favor a clan. To ally yourself with a clan after invasion is like a ********* slave that is crawling to its sadistic master. Those who stand up against them no matter what, will have my support in their endevour to defend your homes and crush those ominous future invaders from beyond the periphery, if we are allied or not.

For everything else I point at my post in the other poll and will again repeat, that we capellans will respect that this vote is one to be restricted to your house.

My understanding is, you won't exactly have a say in the matter. Just like us in CC won't dictate the policy of the confederation being that those will be Dev controlled factions.

Unless I missed something ?

You are probably right Bull Frog. But the players can still form unofficial political structures.

I personally have nothing against the cappellans, and if we are leaning towards the FWL, we might be tied with you anyway because of that alliance.

Mainly it's the dracs I don't trust.

You are probably right in that House pilots will have little say in alliances.
It can have more effect for the merc groups out there that can actively choose House and contract to fight for.

I have always liked Steiner (pre-Katherine) so the FRR merc unit i will put together will mainly take contracts against Kurita and the clans when they arrive.

Look at it like this.. you may not like them but they make good cannon-fodder diversions in the fight against Kurita and later the clans.
