Title says it all. Whoever the sound engineers at PGI are, they know what they are doing. The whole weapon sounds, especially the reload sounds of the weapons blasts me away each time I'm hearing it.

So kudos to you, unknown sound designers!

And I'm looking forward to the implementation of BB.

I'd like to have a dev interview with some of the sound guys, would be interesting to see what inspired them to go with the sounds they did, Why they stick with traditional mechwarrior sounds for some and not for others ect ect.

Thinking of it I wish the PPCs would have the same sound as they had in MW3 (plus the graphic style, but thats probably just me).

I agree I love the sound effects in this game. Especially the sound of the AC20 shooting then impacting a mech...ohh chills! However the new MLas sounds are not the greatist. I liked the original sound better.

For SFX, they have nailed all the things that need to be nailed. They're all very satisfying sounds, from the ballistic dakka to the engine hums of the different chassis. In this area PGI has done top-notch work.

Is it just my ears or is the sound of the pulse lasers cooling down the exact sound of the new Transformers transforming.

It may be on different weapons than the pulse lasers, that is just the one that I remember as being the most prominent for me personally...medium to be precise.

Great post.

Yeah, I now gotta say that the weapon sounds effects in MWO are on par with those in Diablo II. Freaking awesome. Something so basic can really make or break a game. I especially love that you can hear the sounds come from the correct places on your 'mech. I can pretty much feel the next AC round sliding into my Dragon's right arm after I fire my gun.

Even with lacking netcode and just the one game mode, it feels good to just shoot stuff.

Now all I want is a sweet soundtrack to listen to while blasting away waves of clan bots with a reinforced lance of my pals.

A+ for sound. I wish some of the weapons actually were as awesome as they sound (looks at ppc).

Agreed! It would be awesome to have a little dev-interview with the sound designers!

all the sounds are awesome, except those of pulse lasers being fired.
a laser shouldn't sound like a low-firing-rate machine gun, pulsed or not. I'd prefer a buzzing sound.

My neighbours hate MWO's sound effects. I make their windows rattle.
