I'm all for Death From Above. Its a valid tactic, especially considering how difficult they are to pull off at the best of times.
Like any skill, you have to practice it to get good, and live fire attempts would be not only difficult but 'bloody dangerous' if you get it wrong.
Your battlemech is only as good as the skill of the pilot, doubly so for a jump capable mech, as once in the air you have no cover and are committed to whatever course of action you have taken, including DFA attacks. Get it right, well done, pat on the back. Get it wrong, and eat the dirt as you come crashing down, provided you are not vaporised in mid air.
LB-X autocannons exist for a reason, after all.
And what if you fall short of your target? I've seen people in MW4 online multiplayer who tried to DFA an atlas and took an AC/20 round to the cockpit as he landed. I don't sorry for him, he took a risk and it didn't pay off, it happens.
It gives us a new threat to look out for, to keep our eye's peeled and to watch the sky's as we battle.
