I don't know if this is a huge can of worms in the gaming community, but when I used to play CounterStrike, I loved the fact that servers had a ranking system. You'd have a little score next to your name, and if some pro gamer killed you with a 360 no-scope headshot jump off a balcony, you could at least take comfort in the fact that the guy was ridiculously high ranked. For new players, it's a comfort to see that you're in fact getting beat by experienced players, and for experienced players, trying to get a higher rank is rewarding in itself, and you depend less on new content, new weapons, etc.

Obviously, in MW:O the ranking system shouldn't just be based on a kill-death ratio, because we've already seen people abuse that by disconnecting before they get killed, etc. It would have to be a good system.
