Besides, what are you going to say once we have Omni-Mechs?

Any other mech that fits a large weapon like an AC20/Gauss has a huge torso section to house them, CPTL should be no different.

Gauss Cats are not nerfed because neither the K2 nor the Gauss Rifle is OP.
The AC20 Cat on the other hand... that is scary, but not OP.

Isn't that the balance?
oops, wrong thread... Yes, I agree with this. And I do not think it will confuse new players, with the advent that the weapon descriptions and mech load out screens reflect this properly.

Nothing you have posted fits into cannon, nor does it demonstrate an understanding of how the game balance works.
Guass Rifles are high damage, and long range yes, but they are 15 tons, carry small ammo per ton, and have a 4 second shot cooldown. Right now an AC2 does 4 DMG per second, so in 4 seconds an AC2 does 16 DMG while a guass does 15. Not to mention the AC2 blinds you for the entire 4 seconds with screen shake etc. Heck an SRM6 also does 15 damage weighs much less and fires more often. You Shabowie just need to play more before posting okay?

As it stands the more damage you can pack in a single round the better,
15 damage every 4 seconds is easily 4x better than 16dmg spread over 8 shots.
The fact that the AC2 rocks you around is a valid point\advantage however.
The K2 ballistic builds are broken until we see the hit locations grow as per the weapon placed inside.
The thing should look more like a baby Fafnir if its mounting dual gauss\AC20.
Otherwise its fine the torso hitboxes on the cat are its biggest advantage

Of course he does, to say otherwise would be him admitting the fault of the hardpoint system. Do you honestly think anyone at pgi would say anything that would undermine the core of their mechlab?

I've yet to lose a single toe to toe engagement to a guasscat using my dual guass 4X. However, it'll leave me with ripped up armor. In general, guasscats are better dealth with with focused fire to minimize their ability to deal damage.

This game is by nature balanced no matter what you load-out, your opponents have access to the same gear.

Reason you probably didn't consider it was because the Vulture C was better at it. Faster, better armored, and lighter.
I really don't understand what the big deal is with these gimmick builds. People are calling for nerfs on mechs that really don't need them. They will become obsolete when other mechs are available. For example the Gauss cat is quickly being replaced by Cataphracts. When the Jagermech is available, you won't see gauss cats anymore as it will be totally obsolete. The only time you'll see crazy K2 configs is when someone happens to be shooting for elite skills on a Catapult.
As for streak boats, people are really going to hate the Madcat with its 4 SSRM6's (the equivelent of 12 SSRM2s), in addition it has 2 ERPPCs (which clan versions do the same damage as Gauss Rifles).
Point is, these gimmick loadouts are going to fall short in the not so distant future. Those of you using them are just setting yourselves up for failure later on. Those of you on the recieving end should learn how to deal with them and dispatch them quickly, for such tactics will be needed later on as well.
