You open the pilot lab select the mech/varient from which you wish to convert xp, Then hit the exchange button at the top of the screen. Be prepared to pay the MC cost for the conversion.

Yup. You can convert Mech-specific XP for general XP in the pilot lab, and it does cost MC (the real-life cash currency).

The mech has to have all of it's basics unlocked before you can convert it's xp to gxp.

So, whats the conversion rate. Is it 1:1? Like so many things in this game, there's a total lack of info.

Man they really nickle and dime you. I don't mind paying cash for mech variants and for the premium access, but this is a little too far in my opinion.

Then don't buy it (I don't). It's a purely convenience factor, you collect GXP for fre . You are only being asked to pay money to speed up that process.

Yeah, but what are you supposed to do with piles of mech specific XP once you've unlocked everything all the way to master efficiencies? You'll end up with piles of basically useless XP, and the only way to DO anything with it would be to convert it to GXP with real money. :D

Perhaps it will come into play for community warfare? At the moment it's just sort of an endgame thing.

Unless I'm missing something I have no exchange button at the top of my screen. I select the pilot lab tab then select the Heavy then the mech I own that has XP. No exchange button is visible.

It's really starting to irritate me. I only came here to review the game to my viewers on my blog and on Twitter (@bashpr0mpt, add me, f4f, share the luffs) but stayed for the giant robots, but I'm getting REALLY angry and nerd ragey at the unconscionable business practice and sheer ignorance/negligence of the developers.

How easy would it be for the devs to include ALL THIS INFORMATION IN THE GAME like every other video game ... like ... EVER? That's a really good guide btw. You do realize that this is beta right? there are tons of things that still needed to be added and balanced.. The worst possible thing they could do is make some guide last year, which would be so out of date it isn't even funny..

The conversion rate is 25 mech XP to GXP per MC. Sometimes (the times I wait for), they halve the price to 50 mech XP to GXP per MC. At those times, if you buy MC in 6000MC chunks, converting 50,000 mech XP to GXP cost US$5. I think it is worth it to quickly level up mechs you want the unlocks, if you typically grind in something else, YMMV.
