I will make a foto today or tomorrow aswell. :D Got all the classic stuff mostly german first edition. Also the classic batteltech novels that came up when DarkAge was already out. Though almost no DarkAge novels as those were stopped from sales in Germany. So I am not just spamming the forums for no reason but because my heart beats for Battletech. :) Getting hands on Decision at Thunder Rift First Edition did cost me about 150$ here in Germany. The book is older than me. :D

Nice collection. Mine looked similiar, along with a lot of the source and rule books too.

Unfortunately stored them in boxes in a wrong place while sharing accommodation and water damage took it's toll.

However I do have about 63 of the novels in eBook format...

Nice collection Victory! I don't have any of the DA books in print form, as I got them in pdf, but my older collection looks surprisingly similar if a little more worn. Okay, a lot more worn. I've got a tendency to break the spines of my books.

Nice!

I'm in the same boat as the 2 above posters, I hardly ever keep physical copies around anymore, aside from nostalgia in some rare cases. Here's my BT novel collection (101 books):

I used to have all but perhaps five or six of the Battletech novels, pre-dark age. I refused to buy them as I did not agree with the direction wiz kids took the universe. At all.

Felt like there were massive logical gaps that started once the books shifted to Mechwarrior.

I only read a handful of these, from the Mechwarrior series specifically. Don't remember which ones I read to be honest, it was a while ago.

For someone looking to get back into the Battletech lore, which books should I start with? I prefer ones that are somewhat relevant to the time period / storyline of the era that Mechwarrior Online is set in.

Yeah very interested in this myself. Need something good to read after finishing up with Game of Thrones.

Haha, that's funny - I'm halfway through the fourth book of A Song of Ice and Fire myself :)

So, any of you guys who have read most of these, care to give a few book suggestions that are somewhat relevant to the MWO time period?

These are the books that take place between ~3024 and ~3049:
  • Heir to the Dragon
  • Wolves on the Border
  • Decision at Thunder Rift (Saga of the Gray Death Legion - 1)
  • Mercenary's Star (Saga of the Gray Death Legion - 2)
  • The Sword and the Dagger
  • Warrior: En Garde (Warrior - 1)
  • Warrior: Riposte (Warrior - 2)
  • The Price of Glory (Saga of the Gray Death Legion - 3)
  • Warrior: Coupe (Warrior - 3)
  • Way of the Clans (Jade Phoenix - 1)
  • Bloodname (Jade Phoenix - 2)
These are the books that take place between ~3050 and ~3055:
  • Lethal Heritage (Blood of Kerensky - 1)
  • Blood Legacy (Blood of Kerensky - 2)
  • Lost Destiny (Blood of Kerensky - 3)
  • Falcon Guard (Jade Phoenix - 3)
  • Exodus Road (Twilight of the Clans - 1)
  • Wolf Pack
  • Main Event (Black Thorns Saga - 1)
  • Ideal War
  • Natural Selection
  • Assumption of Risk

(The last two of the first set and much of the second set are Clan focused or deal with the Clan Invasion, so those aren't likely to be relevant till a bit after launch.) (I may have missed a few, this is just out of a file I had around which I haven't verified for completeness).

Edit: Added two books to the beginning of the list which cover the beginning of this period up through 3040 and 3028 respectively.

With regard to the era MWO will be set in, it would help to be across the story about 20 years leading up to it. So maybe start at Warrior: En Garde, if you don't want to start at the beginning.

The above post by KnowBuddy, is pretty on the money. However I thought that "Wolves on the Border" fit between the last two in the Warrior Series. Anyway, they are events that take place light years from each other and around about the same time period, so you wont notice too much.

If you would like me to send you a list of the novels in chronological universe order, then PM me. :)

Nice collection man, I only have 1 through 5, and only got them recently when my girlfriend's kid was moving and throwing them out.
