judging by your posts, only person feeling threatened is you.

Criticism is fine and needed. rehashing same complaint on 200 forum topics (hyperbole for those unable to figure that out for themselves, though not by much), yet not offering anything to actually fix it is not beneficial to anyone. You sound like some one very insecure in your p3nis size. Did I insult your lover or something?

I'm being open and honest, I feel threatened in no way. I'm asking you if you think that every piece of criticism should come with the work to fix it attached so PGI needs to do nothing. If I suggest a better way for heat to function, do I then need to code it into the game before I bring it to PGI's attention? If I found the reason that the memory leak occur's, do I then need to fix the offending issue? There's a fix for your overall problem however and that is if criticism offends you and you feel threatened or annoyed by it, close your web browser or close the offending topic and don't read it.

I'd suggest staying away from most message boards if you lack the emotional fortitude to withstand people criticizing your favorite game developers.

I visit forums if I get really bored. Otherwise it's for official patch notes, maybe an occasional news posting, but that's about it. Game forums anymore have developed into nothing but cesspools.

Seems like 90 percent of the people who post here these days are... unreasonabley negative both towards pgi (although I can see how SOME of them might be justified) or towards anyone who dares feel thisgame is fine or even great. Just wanted to express that. Thanks for your time. If I have any sense you wont see me on here again. But you might see me on the battlefield. Good day, sir!

They're just negative in general...towards everybody regardless of what is said. Then again, it seems every message board I go to has the same complaints whether it's here, BF3, PS2, or take your pick.

Ideas that are posted (good or bad) are flamed, and not discussed. People will either weigh in, and if they don't like something, will most likely provide 0 back in terms of suggestions to make it better.

I posted a thread a week ago, and admittedly the idea in retrospect wasn't thought out right and explained correctly, I was totally trashed, and rightfully so. BUT, I was speaking with a forum mod and he commended me on deleting it, and said it was getting to a point where he was about to, and he didn't understand why people have to act the way they do.. He told me why he didn't like the idea, but also said that there was a ring of truth in it, and not to give up on the idea. I in turn rethought it out, and again, the new idea that was much fairer was still met with "hate"...despite as I said being of benefit to us players...people still say it was bad (an idea where the players get something back, that's met with dislike, well, I can only believe the the people who don't like it are on PGI's payroll).

If you like the direction --- you'll get flamed
If you don't like it -- you'll get flamed
If you have an idea that is good -- you'll get flamed by some, praised by others
If you have an idea that is bad -- you'll get flamed / with no ideas to improve.

Forums are a fickle mistress, yet can be good for a laugh here and there.

If you had any sense we wouldn't have seen you attention-hounding by making this thread, therefore...

It ain't the "white knights" that come up with the "OMG PGI IS INCOMPETENT!!111roflzomg"-stuff.

Nope. They're the ones chanting "All Hail PGI the flawless, for they can do no wrong. Let us plant our willing lips firmly upon their rose-scented buttocks."

The thing I don't understand about these threads (and most on here) is the way most of you make every issue black and white. PGI SUXXORRR!!!! TEY ARE COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT!!!! or PGI IS WORKING HARD! SPEND MONEY TO HELP THEM!!! THEY ARE GREAT!!!

Fact is, neither of these statements are true. PGI has so far, made the most beautiful mechwarrior game we've had the privilege to play. They've also made a game that is buggy and incomplete. They've made mistakes along the way, and I'm sure they'll make more.

The game isn't finished. None of us know what is happening at PGI studios. We don't know what they test, or don't test. We don't know the complexities of their project, or the challenges they face on a day to day basis. To label them as incompetent only labels the labeler as overly judgemental and mentally rigid and brittle. It displays a complete lack of understanding not only of video game programming, but of human nature in general. To label them as perfect, hard working, passionate people who are doing this solely out of love is just as naive and ignorant.

I would suggest that most of you on both sides of the aisle just chill the f*** out, but I know it will fall on deaf eyes. So I'll just say this: PGI is making us a game that we all want. Criticizing them is perfectly ok, but doesn't require the raw hate and rage so many use to try to make a point. Defending them is ok too, but also doesn't require the blind devotion so many seem to have to this corporate entity that exists solely to make profit off of our love of the game battletech/mechwarrior.

So keep it dialed down. The ultra negative doesn't help. The white knighting doesnt help. Be realistic, and stop expecting PGI to perform at whatever level you expect them to perform at. You'll be much happier if you just let it happen.

Yeah, most of the time it's better just to avoid this place. You can have a perfectly good run of games, come here to chill out after, and instead of continuing to feel good, you get totally depressed. Best to just skip the forums and play the game.
