Does what it says on the box, since I haven't seen any other thread discussing the camo patterns.

I'm personally not a huge fan of the current offerings, at least the way they look on my Cat. IMO the color blocks in Dazzle and Urban Block are too big and too regular for my taste (Urban Block looks like a checkerboard!) and I'm hoping the next few patterns will be the opposite of what we have now.

For the moment I have a custom white/black/green Default scheme on my favorite Cat, gold-ish trim on my Foundercat, and that's it.

Your thoughts?

I am a little disappointed in the urban block pattern (on my cat, anyway). Was really hoping for something more like this that would cover up more details of the mech and act more...camo-like:

You forgot the "I haven't bought camo yet because it is disposable and not permanent" option. It isn't the price even, I can afford it, I just don't feel good about spending real money in a game on something that will go away if I change my mind.

I'm okay with what I've seen so far, but haven't used them yet...seems like they could be improved in terms of actual use more than what they look like

I second Warrax. I won't pay for a camo scheme unless:

a ) Unlocked patterns by mech chassis or by specific mech when paying for it.

b ) Colors or palettes are unlocked globally when paid for with real money.

I don't see how you can be happy paying for something you cannot keep if you want to change it for $5-7 per scheme (or rather, the price of a light mech). It's simply insane pricing.

I don't want this to be another referendum on unlocking, saving, et cetera. This is purely about the options available.

My apologies for derailing the thread, but those are issues that are keeping a lot of use from using what are otherwise very nice looking skins. I'd love to be able to play around with them without feeling like I'm getting ripped off.

Guys, cmon. There's been 500 threads about whether the camo system is too expensive or badly monetized or badly implemented. It's been discussed to death. Can we just have a thread where we talk about the patterns?

So, no one has any strong feelings about the camo patterns?

I have strong feelings about your poor poll design.

I like the camo options we have so far. Quite disappointed in the colours available and the costing strategy they've taken though, and without any kind of permanent unlock it's quite hard to drop MC on them over spending it on mechbays/premium time.

It's not permanent and there's no real options out there for my Founders (which I plan to play almost exclusively once I master all the chassis).

i like the original catapault paint sheme and am sad that i can't replicate it. the color is not avaliable currently. Also the location of accents/highlights have been changed so that even if the colors were avaliable it wouldn't be an exact copy, i don't mind that too much though.

Still hoping for some patterns that aren't based on coloring different parts of my mechs. I know it's tempting for the artists to get clever with each chassis and do something super custom and include variations in color/tone so you can still make out the mech components (ie darker leg sections between brighter knees, solid-color gun barrels, solid-color feet, vertical lines to show the separation between upper legs and torso), but honestly I would be a lot happier with something that just looked like a thick opaque skin plastered on top of the mech that completely obscured the detail below it.

I would also like camo patterns that are not so evenly spaced and symmetric. There's a bit of asymmetry in the urban block patterns, but I'd like it to go a bit farther in terms of variation in colored section size and orientation...still too many parts that are evenly divided into two or three square sections, imo.

Nobody else has any thoughts?

Maybe this should be in the suggestion forum...
