Hey there. I was thinking about balance and special items and got an idea:

If we have official battle-rounds, like a solaris like tournament for "single players" or a large scale one for groups, the awards for the best places could be something like Lostech or special equipment.

This way, we can get this equipment into the game while also limiting the amount of those magic equipment parts that are available.

While fighting in official rounds, you get some kind of new currency, like honor points. With those honor points, you get the right to buy special items (this can also be done for Clan-Tech, so that you limit the amount of Clan-Mechs and equipment around)

You still have to pay the full price for the equipment. Example:
You want to buy a bare clan-gauss rifle, which will cost 50 honor points. You gathered those points in your matches, because you were good and can now unlock this weapon. After unlocking the weapon, you still have to pay 2 million C-bills to buy it, but now you have the right to.

If you want to unlock LosTech, you can do this the same way, but for a considerable higher amount of honor points to invest.

There is no way to exchange MCs to honor points or C-Bills for honor points. They have to be gathered the hard way.

The use of this rare equipment will be limited to certain kinds of matches (not official competition) so that in a group vs. group or 1 vs. 1 you do not get an advantage just by better equipment. In free drops, you can use this equipment.

This idea is an early draft, so feel free to give your ideas on this. ;)

Sounds kind of like those rare one of a kind things that would appear to be overpowered that only a few twitch gamers or excessive cheese builders can get their hands on in a grind type style of combat, that would most likely be hampered by those that would exploit their latency/lag to be nearly invulnerable to anything except streaks.

I'm one of those people that detests games that require you to do special grinding and/or raids to get the best stuff in game.

If that were to happen to this one, I'd leave, with a lot of ranting and attention [EXPLETIVE] perma-ban style.

So, do you have an idea to implement high value equipment without it being overpowered, instead of leaving it out of the game? I thing, we should have the good stuff - but we need also something to balance it out.
