I think initially the only PvE that will be need would come in the form of bots that you could use to test out configurations from the mechlab. PGI said they're working on that atm and aren't sure if it would make it to launch or not, but Im hopeful. When I first heard that mechwarrior5 ( known now as mechwarrior online ) was going to be multiplayer only, I was kinda pist, wasn't until I thought about it for a minute or two that I realized " That's exactly what I wanted in the first place " that I saw that glorious light that is MWO :P So if the devs decide to add a SP story with PVE at a later date I'm cool with that, so long as it dosen't take away from multiplayer - the meat and potatoes of MWO.

oh hell no. Going against the idea of PvE with this, BUT, they said: there will be NO NPCs, so, guess what, Clans if logic doesnt break, WILL be faction, and be playable. Deal with it stravag freebirth.

oh hell no.

LOL i knew this response was coming. Its all good,no need for name calling.I know you can hardly wait for clan tech .I am with you 100% on getting some clan bam man :P Only like the first week when they are introduced, then you can have all you can eat clan cakes.

Why yes, I would pay for PvE content. I did for the previous MechWarriors, did I not?
Even if it did not impact your PvP pilot's experience, stable, etc., I would still play it. Perhaps with the same engine and all, we could perhaps get that peek at 3015 Deshler again, eh? I don't want it to be a really bland campaign setting of just do this and that, a story even as loose as MW2s, 3's, or 4's would be good enough for me.

I'm sure someone at Pirahna still has the Deshler script stowed away somewhere. :P

All this PVP/PVE speculation is fun.But i'm sure the DEVs will do whatever is best for the game no matter what we say. :P

Co-Op PVE or something of that ilk would be a fine sister game to MWO down the line if MWO is successful enough to support it. I'm not against the idea of a campaign centric MechWarrior game but this was built ground up to be PvP so will never be a good PvE game even if they tried to force it in there with some AI and objectives.

Stop trying to push the game to be something it's not.

Hey, I'm only dreaming. All of the talk in one of the first interviews about the Deshler game talking about coop support and all that kind of had me in stitches. I wanted that game. :P

not take'n the wasted time to read every little nit-pick argument on this thread... just gonna say this.. this IS and MMO (Mass Multiplayer Online) game... this is NOT an RPG.. (and it's not directly an FPS game either) It's a Sim game.. Simulator (yes, you can play with FPS controls like the Mouse and Keyboard) Secondly, MPBT:Solaris and MPBT:3025 had a PvE set-up in the game that DID NOT ruin the game. the PvE set-up was for when you want to be in combat but no one was attacking your region of space/planet/section of the map... it allowed you to (if you were by yourself) drop into a combat situation and fight against ... i think.. up to 3 NPC opponents... Great for training, decient for "instant gratification" fighting when no one else was on or attacking your location. This DID NOT do much for over-all control of the location, and was ALWAYS replaced by other players for the next round, provided they showed up. And in both games.... PvE, in this fashion, did NOT have any standings on your rank, EXP, bills, or anything else in that nature, (MPBT:3025-just helped you to earn some extra cash for the killing of your opponents, in turn helped you buy more mechs, but that was it.)

and i agree that in many MMO-RPG games.. designed for a PvP demograph, the PvE aspect is a bane. BUT it can be handled the right way and be an asset. and IF PGI decides to add a PvE system later.. I hope they follow one of their predecessors, Namely MPBT:Solaris, and MPBT:3025, and go that route, to allow for solo combate against the NPCs if no one elese is around.

Knt.Maverick, got a lil quiz for ya, You agree, its Massively Multiplayer Online, but heres the quiz, true false.

1, We take on the Role of mechwarriors.
2. We Play online against one another <once we get open beta/launch that is>
3. This is a Game.

IF you answered true to the above 3 questions, guess, what, you just agreed, R.P.G. not in your traditional sense, no, but, still a Role Playing Game.

Sorry mate but unfortunately the game you wanted it no longer in development and at this point is permanently shelved. Instead of crying over spilled milk you should be happy that we are getting the game we are, which is way better in terms of graphics, audio, and gameplay system. Not only that but now then dev's are much more well versed then they were 3 years ago, which only bodes well for all of us. Thank God they didn't go ahead an make that game when they originally planned for, MWO wtfpwns it.

i think comstar is screwing with transmissions, I got a garbled word in final line, namely this: wtfpwns care to clear up the confusion. I HOPE that is not some sort of late 1990s kiddie comment tho.

if it is what i THINK it is, it has its birth back in the days of 'leet speak' which, i started seeing around 99 at my HS. i never really understood any of it. Why do ppl STILL use numbers as letters or even replace a valid letter with one that doesnt belong in the word in the first place? like 'pwn' sorry folks, its not saying: own, its telling me that A you wanna PAWN something or you slipped and didnt bother with backspace... not bein rude or anything, just voicing my thoughts. and yes, pitchforks left of me, torches and fuel to the right.

Co-op PvE or a campaign mode would be a fine addition to the game. It'll never be the focus, though, and that's fine. Every Mechwarrior has generally been a single player game with PvP tacked on as an afterthought. The PvP focused design of MWO has been a long time coming.

while i have faith that PGI will make this game everything it can be and more, i am beyond worried about the PvP aspect of it. Game is free, yes, they have things in place that they cannot discuss for obvious reasons to deal with cheating and the like, but, in the end, ppl will get past it, and ppl will troll the battlefield and grief. nothing can stop that, and THAT is what worries me. I dont want some **** screwin up my experience just so he or she can get his jollies by screwin things up for all of us.
