Ballistics are just hard to hit with.

With the increased velocity, you now just "miss faster" than you used to. Great.

wait what? Thought ppcs were energy

They are energy, but their shot mechanic is that of a ballistic weapon.

Haven't played with it enough to decide, but the few games I did I found it hard to hit when moving but that could be because of my horrible, horrible aim.

I've gotten over 600 damage using solely PPCs. It feels like it's working.

Just had a match with my dual ac20 cat. 4 hits to main body of an enemy streak cat, i saw 'damage sparks' for each double strike. he takes almost no damage and manages to kill me even with one more single ac20 hit. total match damage 40.... what's up with that. If i shoot someone in the face at point blank (but not leg humping) range i sort of expect them to implode.

yep, hit registration is odd. The damned damage spread is destroying PPCs even more then they were already. Add SRM Stalkers tramping across the map under ECM and PUGs are bust for PPCs.

also suspect the new speed might mess up the hit registration some seem to pass thrue the targets could also be part net code and lag

It's not ppcs, it's all ballistic projectiles.

I've seen my gauss and AC20s just fail to deal damage on direct hits many times, ppcs suffer from this too but at least have infinite ammo so it doesn't hurt you as much.

Yes, lets go back to that poll that had the balls to ask the devs to make PPC's a hitscan weapon.

:/

rather puzzled as to why... perhaps the canon description for PPC would help (let's not get into what actual nls particle weapons would do... already had to explain far too much physics in other threads and it didn't settle anything or seem to satisfy anyone to make it worth the time trying).

Thats because you made the assumption that most people here have average inteligence at minimum. I made the same mistake as well.
