When you have a good match in your Stalker:
You feel like a unstoppable monster. Death itself streaks from your fingertips. LRMs arc across the map. A medium mech thinks to himself "This LRM boat will be an easy kill". But you see him coming, and at 220 meters he steps out in front of you. TAG laser lighting him up, 30 Artemis LRMs, 6 Streaks, and 4 Medium Lasers all fire in unison. The TAG guides all the LRMs right into his center mass, already exposed by lasers and fast moving streaks. In an instant the medium mech goes from perfect condition, to a smolder heap.
You clomp forward, ready to bring destruction and ruin to another victim.
When you have a bad match in your Stalker:
You feel like a Tyrannosaurus Rex trying to play volleyball...

I've posted this before, I feel absolute glee when I notice a light or medium charging me head on, just waiting for the alpha volley of SRM's followed by my ER to the cockpit to finish them off.

I am starting to rue the head on assaults on these missile boats! My Hunchback doesn't last three rounds, once they lock on!

I felt like posting this after a match where I killed a 100% Hunchback at 200 meters in one Alpha. I had high ground on him so I assume he took a load of LRMs to the head and that's what killed him. In any event it was a very "Woah!" moment.
Then the next match I got picked apart by an ECM light. The turn rate and torso twist of the Stalker is outstandingly bad.

Yes, but all it takes is one D-DC Atlas advancing through cover or Raven showing up behind you to ruin your day.

except for caustic, pretty much every map has more than enough cover to ensure only the careless ever take significant punishment from lrm's. the srm stalkers on the other hand can be dangerous, but as people have pointed out, stalkers don't turn very fast. nor do they torso twist much. nor do their arms really help. flank it and it drops quick

I had a 5xSRM6+Artemis Stalker and I was honestly underwhelmed. Specializing for short range combat is not a great idea for something as slow and cumbersome as the Stalker. What the Stalker is, is a weapon's platform. Under the right conditions it will absolutely destroy the enemy in short order. But as with all Assaults, it is very vunlerable to close up faster movers.
The difference with the Stalker is, people think if you are shooting LRMS you are a boat and defenseless up close. But with a Stalker you could be still dealing with 5 Medium Lasers and Short Range missiles of some sort, so be careful.

I'm going to be smiling all day at the image of a Tyrannosaurus Rex trying to play volleyball. Well said!

I felt like an unstoppable Avatar of Thor in my appropriately named "Thor's Hammer" build, 6xPPCs.
Best feeling? When a gauss sniping Cat(Phract or Pult) stands there taking a bead on you, and lands a pot shot....and you just take the time to line up a REAL shot...and BOOM 60 damage alpha to the cockpit and he just crumples. Yeah. Best feeling ever.

I was never an assault pilot (no chicken legs... until now) so when I loaded up my stalker I was constantly about teh shear firepower i know had.
and when I cackled like a madman evaporating a commando with an alpha strike as hit clipped a wall my teammates stated "dude you sound scary in that thing".
