This game amazing except the fact that the game crashes and freezes like every 3 games. OMG! any idea to solve these problems?

Without knowing detailed system specs or operating system, its kinda hard to offer any advice.

I have the same issue, game just freezes sometimes and I must shut it down with the taskmanager.
Sometimes the game just crashes and turns off during load.

Motherboard:

Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

8,00 GB RAM

Intel Corei7 2600

AMD Radeon HD 7970

Gfx driver verision: 9.12.0.0
res: 1920x1080
DirectX-version DirectX 10

My specs are similar to yours, albeit with an Nvidia card rather than an AMD one.
Common/General suggestions include:
  • Update drivers, particularly for video card. Don't be one of those people who claim that their drivers are up to date when they're not, or claim that they know it isn't the issue.
  • Delete the shader cache (user/shaders/cache folder in your MWO install, - default of c:\games) so that it gets regenerated next time you play.
  • Search the forums/internet for more specific advice.

I have the same issues and am testing a workaround. I have wiped and re-installed everything twice with no effect. I was freezing probably 7 out of 10 matches.

My work in progress workaround: I have played around with overclocking my card in the past and noticed that these freezes resemble freezes I would get when the card was undervolted. I used MSI afterburner to bump the core voltage from the factory 1175 mV to 1188 mV and I haven't had any freezes on that setting as of yet.

Disclaimer: I don't endorse or accept any responsibility from anyone tinkering with the voltage on their cards. If you do tinker with the voltage do it in very small increments and monitor GPU temps.

If anyone else tests this please post your results. I have already sent mine to PGI.

I am currenlty using an XFX 7970 Black edition with an i7 2600K. All drivers and BIOS are up to date. I have not had any freezes on other games, only MWO.

Now that you mention it, the few times MWO has crashed for me have been on very hot days where my computer's uptime was several days, all of which involved GPU usage...

I've had several crashes since the last patch, it always seems to happen when i hit a control at the same time that another player disconnects.
graphics card (gtx 660) drivers are up to date, running win7 with 16 gig ram and I5 3570 cpu. I also get kicked to desktop randomly.

A complete computer freeze can have various causes.

PSU: I doubt that. If your PSU was too weak the PC would just go black and restart
RAM: Could be a problem. You might want to try testing your memory with one of the avaliable test programs http://pcsupport.abo.../memorytest.htm
CPU: Never had a computer start up with a damaged CPU, so I doubt there's a problem with it. Check your CPU temperature under load though. You can use a program like Intel Burn In test for stability and temperature check. http://www.softpedia...lBurnTest.shtml
Motherboard: Could be the reason for system instability. Damaged capacitors, a craze on the board, a faulty soldered joint,...
HDD: Check your harddisc or SSD for errors with scandisc.
GPU: Check your temperature and stability under load with a benchmark program like furmark. http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

A sudden restart of the system can be a power problem, a temperature problem or some faulty contact/hardware.
Make sure of one thing though. Check your temperatures and keep your coolers clean of dust.

Its just the game that freezes, mostly if you are doing good. Its like a fail-safe, if you are close to having fun the game shuts down.

Same here, game freezes randomly when in a game, on any given map, regardless of what action I'm doing.
Only way out is Ctrl-Alt-Del, Taskman, kill mwoclient.
Happens much more since last patch.
I use Open Hardware Monitor to check my temps, and everything is well within normal range, so it's not an overheating issue.
I updated the Radeon drivers from 12.x to 13.1, but it changed nothing.
Other games work well without crashing or freezing up, hence the issue seems more with the game than with my pc.

System:
Windows 7 SP1 x64, Core 2 Duo e8400, 4GB ram, Gigabyte x38 DS4 something something, some drives, some mouse... :)

game randomly freezes, I can still hear the game sound going in the backround.
I just alt out and then go back into it and its fine.

u might want to turn down the windows effects on your desktop.

Dear mates. Try this

Right guys, since it's all highend systems mostly running medium settings getting the "freeze" lockup it might have something to do with a very high framerate.

I limited my fps to 45 by using a user.cfg entry. (if you dont have a user.cfg file you can create one with notepad, place it in the mwo dir)

sys_MaxFPS = 45

I've played quite a few games without freezing now, it doesn't prove anything yet, but so far so good. turning on vsync with a 60hz monitor might do the trick too. You guys running with or without?

^^^^^^

I can vouch for this. I was running without v-sync and was freezing all the time, GPU usage was maxing out and and temps were alot higher than they were with other games. I bumped my core voltage about 15 mV and it seemed to help alot.

After reading Flapdrol's post I dropped my core voltage back down to stock levels and turned on v-sync. Played all last night without a single freeze, and noted that GPU usage averaged about 20% less and temps were down about 5 degrees.

Will play again tonight with the frame limited to 60 fps using the usr.cfg file.

ive never had a problem with mech worrior online really until recantly after the introduction of the pretty baby and the patch that came with it, since then my mech worrior game crashes randomly during matches often during heated fights with lrms and ppcs and such hitting all over but i never had a problem prior to the patch so im not sure why it suddenly began kicking up now
