[THEAL SWENA] “How will two friends be able to stay in touch with each other out of game so that they can play together? You're not doing co-op on launch, so the best thing next to that is play multiplayer with a friend. Will you have a friend system? Thank you for your time!”

[PAUL] “We have a friend list system which will help you keep track of your friends who are online and playing the game. From the friend list, you can invite people to a chat group. You can then join a match with everyone in that chat group no matter what its size is (up to 12 players).

1v1 private chat and group chat will all be ready for you on launch. We will be adding additional functionality to this as the game grows.”

[NEODYM] “Will there be friendly fire? Will there be a way to play on servers without FF?”

[GARTH] “There is friendly fire; though we have looked at options for non-friendly fire matches, we have no concrete plans to do so at this time. We have found that having FF on encourages more thoughtful and planned play, resulting in everyone having more fun.

Plus, you get to leg Paul when the game starts.

[VEXGRAVE LARS] “Will there be dramatic dynamic weather with effects on gameplay? Like limiting vision in fog etc..?”

[GARTH] “Yes, there will be dynamic weather such as rain, fog, etc. Fog will obscure vision and make for much more ‘oh crap!’ matches, where you suddenly find yourself walking into the enemy. It makes things a lot more tactical, and slows matches down. Also Lights love it ;)

I'll be adding a new Q&A shortly, stay tuned and thanks for your interest!

Will there be dynamic, dramatic violin minor chords when you encounter the enemy in fog?

Now I'm curious what happens when fog meets thermal optics. Thermal optics = no fog?

There are chords in dubstep? If Paul does the music, can we call it Thub-step?

I think it's kind of the point of multiple optic modes....can't see via the old MK I's...time to switch to Magnetometer...

(let's hope the Sun len's flare on the desert planet is holy eye breaking, also we need some dusk/night fighting).

FF on - No spamming the alpha button or you're liable to not be invited back into the group.

Weather - Shoot 'n scoot plus peek-a-boo makes for fun Light play.

Having Friendly Fire in effect is very good, I agree 100%
But reading your comment about legging paul got me thinking.
How will you handle griefers how TK's on purpose?

Will there be a penalty for YOU as a player for damagin or even killing your own team mates?
Will repeted offenders get a more severe punishment?

Will griefers be kicked from the game?

(I am a regular Battlefield-3 player, and although I think it is good when there are admins around to kick griefers who TK and TK to get vehicles, I HATE those servers wich autokicks you after X-amount of Team Kills. Sometimes in 64-player matches it is just unavoidable. People just run in front of your gun when you put down suppressive fire with a MG or some cowboy tries to plant C4 on a tank at just the same moment you fire off an RPG at it. Those things can not be helped and an Autokick might not always be so good)

Thanks Garth, forgot to check for this update, due to all the beta news overload

Friend system to let up to 12 friends play together is good news indeed! Can't wait to see fog and rain in action.

Put a couple of those names on your /ignore list and never see them again.

and btw, bad pre-mades will be rolled by well coordinated pugs.
