Got my Catapult all buffed and shiny for that museum down the street. I made sure to disable all the weapons and bolted the legs down with concrete to make sure no hooligans stole the mech and started wreaking havoc.

At long last this Vet is going to put down his weapons, and enjoy a nice, quiet, peaceful and well earned early retirement.

Peace? In the Inner Sphere? You surely must be drunk. The only "peace" we ever see is when all sides are too busy rearming for the next war. Besides, those pirates on the periphery are up to something, I can feel it in my bones.

Don't you worry man. I have a distant cousin at one of the big players out there and he sent me a tape a few weeks ago and told me "everything is fine". He really meant it, he was very insistent about how really absolutey everything would be okay! Silly guy was even so nervous about the great news he was sweating and his eyes were moving from left to right. Yeah, yeah, gotta watch your back out there, those back-stabbing *******, right? ^^

Haven't heard about him since but I bet he's just sleeping off the booze...

'Course 'm drunk, but this threat ta bein paid to commit acts of vi-o-lance an' mayhem cannot be ignored. I don wanna fight them pirate swine, ain't a decent stand up fight in'em. Only ones in'a galaxy worth facin' down are the other Merc corps an' occashunally some house sitck jockey with aspirations a' being a holy terror. If we don find some reason fer a big fight no one'll be payin mercs ta fight mercs an then there won't be a fight worth havin', or a paycheck worth collectin.

As-I-said might could we need ta start a fracas of our own if nothin' happens soon.

Don't worry so much. Sooner or later, one of those Houses will have delusions of grander and start trying to "conquer" the Inner Sphere again.

Besides, I wouldn't count the pirates out just yet. They apparently killed that Kell kid. Be best to keep your eye on them.

Man the last report i got from my brother, whos a freighter captain, was just like that! Man, i guess you really gotta watch your back out there! Luckily theres nothing worse than a few pirates!

You know I really see the point about all those merc companies being a little rough around the edges... They're not gonna just all go to Solaris, you know? I mean some of those maniacs are literally " addicted to chaos " if you catch my meaning. Maybe we should just, you know, raise a fund or something. So we can stage some conflicts on barren, lifeless lumps of rock for them to be occupied, fighting each other. Leave that kind of business to us social generals. We'll manage.

What are you talking about? Even during the old Star League, there was still plenty of fighting. Why else would the SLDF maintained such a huge army. All those mech they were building back then where for show. It's to bad that they abandoned the Inner Sphere only to rot away in some void.
