Ways To Attract New Players

1. Since ts seems to be a prereq for enjoying mwo, why not bundle teamspeak 3 with the client, and then have new users make a ts account and go on a ts server to find a unit, before they are even allowed to drop.
2. Since this game is so team based, it whould really press that on new users. Require new players to join a 4 man team or they cannot enter the battle queue. This would help the resistant ones learn how much cooler and more awesome mwo is when you use third party software.
3. How about some mech which look similiar in many ways to the old school decepticons. Suppose you could do the autobots too, but take care to not violate any ip laws. Decpticons are cool, and would draw in more players!
Based on these suggestions you would have cooler mechs, no more pugs, and hopefully player growth would finally occur. Just a thought.

suggesting that they add transformers to the game is not productive. ifthey want to do something to attract more players they should add something more than glorified arena combat.

Firstly, where are you getting your numbers from?
Anyways, on to your concerns...
1. The game comes with a VoIP solution, C3, it's just not very good, or very integrated.
2. Being in a team should not be required, playing as part of a team should! If new players have gone as far as the website to download the game, maybe they should have taken a few more steps to find out the premise of the game...I don't mind helping people, but if they can't help themselves in the first place....
3. Really....are you serious. I dread to think how hard the BT fans will come down on you for this! Fact of the matter is, there are cooler mechs, they just can't use them for legal reasons.

Since when is an Atlas not cool?
Or the Cataphract?
If you want to assist with the mech choices, check out Sarna.net , judging by your "decepticons" comment..I am guessing your new to Battletech?

Atlas is cool for a guy that must keep his arms locked at a 45 degree angle at all times. My grandfather kind of has that issue, but its due to old age.
Catapult, cool? Not a chance. 2 legs and 2 bunny ears. Looks fragile to me, most certainly not something that should be 2 shotting most mechs. Isnt that mech supposed to be a 2nd line support mech? Why is it so popular on the front line? Seriously.
As for teamspeak 3 requirements... you mightas well just make the new players get it. Because as it stands absent ts3, they get farmed bya 4 man, and download planetside 2. Look at the numbers.
As for my numbers, talk to the founders that came up with them, their posts can be found with moderate diligence.

Saving MWO is not our responsibility. Thats PGI's problem. I also don't see any lack of players but if there was, who can blame them ? Constant disconnects, 4FPS glitch, the glitch that makes u an "invalid user" and give you no xp or money for you battle, black screens, the light mech lag shield....the slow development and release of more mechs. The complete and utter waste of time to master a mech because mechs already have mod slots and most of the mods suck anyway and cost ******** amounts of money and gxp. I wonder why so many people would quit ?
I know this is still beta but there is only so much people can take before they just give up and move on.
8v8 is also worthless and I can tell you right now that the main reason I no longer do them is because i'm sick of the other team standing in base the whole match with 8 Atlas D-DCs. After getting 4 different teams in a row with that lineup, my buds and I just gave up. Its stupid they don't have a ton limit for 8 man teams. When/if they do, i'll play them again. Until them I won't. I'll just run 4 mans.
You can't expect people to continue to have patience after a year of Beta and still have the same problems with the game they've had for the last 6 months.

by the way I was just thinking is there a way to block people on the forum? I don't know why that popped into my mind, basically more of a hypothetical than anything else I think
