Why not have ONE control point placed in a mid area between the two bases, its quick to respond to from across the battle field, neither team will have much of an advantage, and it provides brawls for those that want it and opportunity for some interesting tactics.

What interesting tactics? It'd just be an ECM brawlfest, like everything else is.

There's always one that ruins a damn good idea with mention of ECM. I actually think that would be a cool idea. It could set up some interesting tactics. I wouldn't just have a hill though, I'd like to see a reason for needing to capture the high ground. It could be a huge orbital cannon or just a Mech repair base or something along those lines but give us a reason for doing what we are doing.

I assume you mean whatever that structure we have right now is? Well no I don't like that and have never been able to see the point in it. In CB it was about half the size of a raven and made even less sense but I always assumed it was 'placeholder' and would be changed not just made bigger.
Look there is plenty of stuff in the BT lore that could be used from mobile command vehicles to mobile field repair bases. Turret control buildings would be an awesome idea if you also had Calliope turrets raining down LRM's on you during the match and had to blow up the control building to stop them.

If I was playing KoH I think I'd set up at range and shoot the crap outta whoever stands on the "hill" If you designed the map so range wasn't an option then It'd just be a big ***** fight brawl to see who's left standing
We need less generic fps ideas and more unique mechwarrior ideas for match modes.

Well if you had a map with a big hill in the middle then range would be used a lot because anyone standing on the hill will have LRM's raining down on them until they explode in a fiery ball of death.

Instead of pure KoH, why not have a mobile/moving objective?
