Someone mentioned to me that in order to unlock elite skills on a type of mech, not only do you need to have unlocked all 8 basic skills on 3 of that mech's veriants, but you also have to have those 3 mech variants in your garage (ie: still own all 3).
Is that actually the case, or do you simply need to have gotten the 8 basic skill on 3 of the mech's variants?

As long as you have unlocked them on 2 other variants it does not matter if you still own them.

For Elite you only need the one you want level up after you've run the basics in the other two.

Also, to get the Master slots, you must Elite 3 variants of the same chassis

So once I've master leveled 3 Cats, Then elite leveled 3 Cataphracts. Can I sell 2 Cats and 2 Phracts leaving me to only master level the remaining Phract? Or would I need to keep all 3 Cats and Phracts until 1 Phract was mastered?

Ultimately I want to have 1 Mech Mastered for each Chassis. 1 Dragon, 1 Cat (Founders), and 1 Phract (IIlya). Again for both medium and assault. With the new patch giving XP for Tag/NARC. I'm going to start lights too.
