This Forum Will Suffer On Tuesday

I think the logic here is a bit flawed since folks on the enemy team are going to want to play the Spider too. Sure, you could encounter a nightmare scenario where you have seven Spiders on your team and they have seven Raven 3L's, but it's probably more likely that we'll all see balanced numbers of Spiders both on our teams and opposing.
Rather than more complaints about ECM, I would like to see the devs implement the already planned Machine gun and Flamer buffs before the Spider goes live since those weapons are included in several of the Spider variants. Can you imagine a Spider with a flamer or dual machine guns as a trial mech?

Speed cap.
That and most people won't play them as scouts, they'll play them as brawlers. Then start crying on the forums when anything with more then 2 weapon slots absolutely murders them.
I expect (and hope) they won't have only 2 hardpoints. If they have, they will be worthless, no matter the speed or jumping capability.

1 - curiosity for a new Light will generate massive light drops for a while
--- True, but is not gonna last forever, just a few days, therefore is not a major concern. Furthermore if this "game" is still called BETA is because we are supposed to test new stuff, therefore it makes sense there will be Light drops.
As we know we will have also a massive amount of RVN and CMD and that will rouin the attempt to test anything. On top of that with the actual Lagshield almost makes no sense to test a Light because we know we are not gonna be able to hit it.
2 - Is a mistake releasing a Light when Netcode, Collisions and lagshield in general are not fixed
--- that is true. We had other releases but putting another speed deamon on a battlefiled where speed is a tech issue makes no sense to me whatsoever.
3 - Fast Capper and Scout.
--- True, but we are at a stage in this game where all of what is Incentivated is just combat and kills.
Assault is mostly a TDM where Lights have sense only because ECM and only if they have enough firepower to be a browler. being Scout is a secondary matter.
Doesn t matter how they are trying to Incentivate Scouting and Tagging with XPs or money. they actually set the game expectations on Combat mode only and screwed up the Scouting or capping role per se.
Conquest although have been lightly revamped still is not motivational for Conquest mode. It s still an Assault with the option to Cap something. Spider might be slightly more succesful there, but that is there to be proven.
The Spider in this picture has no fit. besides the initial curiosity and ppl using it for a few days, i don t see any longevity if the game mode is not changing back to something more strategic than a face to face browling.
In 8man drops not even thinking about it. Just dropping with a Medium is actually a liability due to the ineptitude of the MM system (forget about the Phase 3 farce), go figure how useless that Spider can be on an 8man drop.
PGI, dedicating the same time you put on the Spider to instead deliver 2 or 3 LARGER maps on top of the Alpine and Desert (for a total of 5 new maps), sounded so silly to you?

Why are spiders free kills? They are supposed to be the most agile flying light ever.
Because they have paper armor, and until netcode is fixed cannot take advantage of their maximum speed. They'll be capped at the same speed as a commando or a jenner or a cicada.
Also, unless there's some tragectory tuning on JJs, those won't be as useful as they used to be. Furthermore, since all mechs come with their maximum potential JJs installed, all you can do is nerf the jumping - not improve it over stock. That's kind of silly, imo, but at least it affects all mechs with JJs.
Even for folks who have the most trouble hitting lights, a couple sweeps across the legs and the spider is hobbled.
Also, massive
