I may not have played a F2P game, but I DO understand the model. I want to choose this as an answer.

I may not have played a F2P game, but I DO understand the model. I want to choose this as an answer in the Beta profiler.

Clarification - I want to say that I have not played F2P, but I do understand it. There are no options that I can choose to reflect my situation.

And now it won't let me submit my answers (Support Thread Here) for internet connection speed, or whether or not I've played a F2P game.

Had that conundrum as well. If tied to the first "have you played ftp" questions it would of worked but as a stand alone it falls flat.

Go DL World of Tanks and try it out. It is probably the most similar model to what it sounds like MWO will use. I don't mind WOT's money system, but the game does have a few flaws in the gameplay department... Especially balancing and Matchmaking which are total crap. Still it is a good place to start if you are a complete noobs when it comes to F2P games. And it is fun some of the time.

Ya stick with have not played. If they are putting together a good beta group it should not DQ you at all, and may improve your chances. When the game releases they will want to have all their bases covered. This will mean having the opinions and so on of people who are new to the model, as not all of thier customers will have played a ftp game before.

Answer honestly, they will want some of every answer represented in the test group.

LoL has the best record of a F2P so far as I am aware

But its not like they are going to choose only those familiar with F2P. So dont think you know what the right answer is here.

I already chose "I have not played" but there is a second question about if you understand the economic model of F2P... and I do understand it.

The question I'm actually annoyed with is the "Do you intend to buy a Founder's Pack" Yes or No? What about "If I have the money, but not likely"

I thought I did too before I started in on world of tanks (had messed around in battlefield heroes)

The thing is, no two F2P games are alike. They all aim to make money, but the value they present with their purchases and how they affect the game are the makers and breakers.

It's kind of like, as a college student you might understand many technical aspects of a certain thing, but your ability to actually function in a career in said field is more dependent on experience.

The question I have for you is, if they're free to play, why not give one a shot?

some of them are rather narrow/leading questions.

I have never played a F2P, so my application is stuck at 92%, it also says that applications with higher completion will be considered first, woe is me! lol

Well, I have not played one, but I know what they are. The only choices they give you are: 1.) I have played 1 or more F2P games, or 2.) I don't know what F2P is.

Whatever, the more important question is why it won't let me submit my answers.

Ive been playing SL for almost 5 years and I would def call it a proto F2P game. You dont have to pay to play but there is -vast- content for sale or you can make anything yourself. I also played a couple of asian F2P grinders like 5 Dragons and a Pirate one. I understand the model and I think its the way to go for many games that can benefit from a massive user base even if 30% are actually paying.

Happened with me as well, tried to list haven't played a F2P but it wouldn't let me complete the survey (I'd say no and it wouldn't accept that as an answer). So I am now in the process of downloading World of Tanks so my application isn't false.

Have you tried to answer "no" to never have had played a F2P, and for the follow-up question, answer "other"? I think this would get you to 100%.

I am considering that, but I only have room in my heart for Mechwarrior. :)

Downloading World of Tanks won't change my 35mbps broadband connection. Help here?

And I already tried saying "no" to playing, "what's F2P?" for my understanding level, and "other" for what games I have played. Only the "what's F2P?" and "other" choices were accepted. It still won't accept my Internet speed or the fact that I have not played a F2P game.

I agree 100%. Just downloading it to validate my answer (even though it seems there's a bug in the questionnaire revolving that question) so my app doesn't seem inconsistent.
