Friendly fire has always been part of this game, and in the pew-pew-pew world post-ECM, there is a hell of a lot more of it. Part of this makes sense, as sometimes ECM does make it hard to tell friend from foe.
That said...
What I have noticed is a ton of people with ZERO regard to line of sight. It's much worse than it has ever been. The number of times I am completely taken out of a fight because one (or more) of my teammates have no concept of there being anyone else on the battlefield... You know the ones, that run up to "pile on", take a hit or two and get scared, then go full reverse in front of all of their teammates, either soaking up friendly fire, or impeding their ability to shoot.
It always happens, and always will happen, it's just part of the game. What I've noticed lately though is it is happening farrrrrrrrr more than ever before. It's downright infuriating when you are in a slower brawling mech like an Awesome or Atlas.
I am almost always conservative in my shots, going out of the way to prevent friendly fire incidents. Lately though, I am starting to think this is a mistake... let life be the teacher and just fire away.
Anyone else notice this behavior getting a ton worse lately, or have I just had a bad run? It's to the point I am putting heavy brawlers away and sticking to either long range assaults, or faster skirmishers.
